- A paroled prisoner hits a man who's attacking a woman, then runs away, scared that he killed the man (he did not). From the book "Woman in the Dark" by Dashiell Hammett.
- "Dakota" Smith (William Terry), a young soldier on a pass in New York City, visits the famed Stage Door Canteen, where famous stars of the theatre and movies appear and host a recreational center for servicemen during the war. Dakota meets a pretty young hostess, Eileen Burke (Cheryl Walker), and they enjoy the many entertainers and a growing romance.

Then there is Sally's new flame Jimmy Brett, a con man and gentlemen thief, who has out-tricked Lother in a fixed poker game, and is, together with shorty, after the ladies jewels. Inspector McKinney suspects Joe Saunders, a recently released convict, who was arrested due to some tips by Lother, but Ned and Sally insist that they committed the crime alone.

- Guests at a luxury hotel are horrified when they witness a man literally "disappear into thin air." The vanished man's relatives hire a detective, who goes to the hotel to investigate the disappearance.
- Jerry Hampden, a young female reporter for a large newspaper, comes up with her first scoop - a suicide precipitated by a lover who lost interest. The publisher nixes the story because the perpetrator is the influential owner of a large department store chain. When she lets the publisher know her displeasure, she is canned on the spot. Needing a job somewhere far from the city, her beau sets her up with an offer to be an editor for a small town newspaper, the Advocate in Apex, California. Her first name of Jerry gets her in the door for an interview. The Advocate's owner, Sam Webster, is not pleased to see that he has offered the editor position to a woman. She lets him know that she is the "best editor in the world", that he would do well to let her have a month's trial. He agrees. She is able to turn the tide on paper's ledger. There is a big story brewing in the community. Many people have invested in a wildcat oil well drilling. The local banker has drawn in many local investors in return form a share of the investment funds. He fully expects the well to fail. Much to his surprise, the well hits a strong pocket of oil. He tries to suppress news of the discovery while he tries to quietly buy back some of the shares. Jerry blows the lid off his scheme. He threatens to take over the newspaper from Sam. But Jerry has the upper hand. Part of the oil take-over scheme is the same department store owner whose story led to her firing. In addition, she has evidence of a false report of the well failing on bank stationery. The two shysters are forced to sign agreements that will help the locals, not exploit them.
- A doctor who has spent his career working on ways to revive the dead sees his chance to prove his theory by performing his procedures on a recently deceased dog.

Santell orders Bob to take a dive in the fourth round so Santell can recoup prior gambling losses. Taunted by his ring opponent, Bob wins the fight. Realizing that his profession and underworld characters connected to it are causing him problems, Bob decides to join the police force. After taking nurse Mary Prentiss (Geneva Mitchell) to a drive-in restaurant where the total bill is a depression-era cheap eighty-two cents, Bob and his fellow officers round-up a gang of fur thieves in a warehouse shoot-out.

A paroled convict comes back to the hotel to find stolen funds he hid there years earlier. He saves a woman from suicide, unaware that she has been hired by crooks to spirit the loot away from him. This early Tiffany talkie is pretty good. 16mm.
- A naïve farmer writing songs tries his chances in New York. Unlucky, he is helped by a crooner who lusts after one of his songs. Ignoring the real value of his composition, he sold it for the money he owed to his friends: $200.
- After a plane makes an emergency landing, passengers take refuge in a deserted house, but one of them is a killer.
- Sinclair has a government lease on range land that is about to expire. George Ringold wants the land and hires Roberts and his men. But they turn out to be a gang of killers and trouble soon arises.

- While the original title, "Trailing the Killer" isn't a misnomer, it was a bit misleading since the "trailer" is a dog named Caesar (Caesar the Dog) and the killer is a mountain lion, aka a cougar or puma, as the narrator quickly clarifies. But the makers also pointed out that Caesar "is the most intelligent dog actor since Rin-Tin-Tin" which probably lured a few Rin-Tin-Tin fans with a show-me attitude. Caesar prowls around the Northwest woods, dispatches a rattlesnake, visits his she-wolf mate and their pups, pauses to watch a raccoon personally washing every morsel of food before eating it--and that raccoon had enough food to use up several minutes of running time--then saves sheepherder Pierre (Francis McDonald) from getting eaten up by one mean mountain lion. Rin-Tin-Tin he ain't, but then who was? Commonwealth changed the title to "Call of the Wilderness" when they acquired it for 16mm rental to the school market.
- Belle (Mary Nolan), cafe waitress on the San Francisco docks, becomes the moll of small-time racketeer Vance (Jon Davidson), but a slumming novelist John Banning (Jason Robards Sr.), decides to rescue her from chosen seedy life.
- A film producer is found murdered on a ship, and among the suspects are a young woman whose mother was mistreated by him and his recently fired electrician.
- When a German spy realizes that he is being followed by British agents, he gives the secret information he is carrying to his girlfriend. When he is killed, she gives the information to his superiors, and herself becomes a spy, hoping to get revenge for his death. She is then sent on several dangerous and deadly missions during World War I that cause her to question whether what she is doing is right.
- A young couple finds themselves mixed up with mobsters planning to rob a warehouse.
- A deranged killer escapes into the Canadian woods. He tries to fool the locals by pretending he is a well known mystery writer, but the local Mountie starts to get suspicious.

- Barbara "Babs" Penfield is trying to convince her father, laundry-magnate F. Thorndyke Penfield, to invest money in a proposition from her sweetheart Rodney Randall. Her father refuses as he knows Randall is a fortune hunter, as did any 30's audience once Bradley Page appeared on the scene. While Penfield hurries out to award the Penfield Prize for Service at his laundry, Babs, finding her allowance has been stopped by her father, tries to sell her car to raise cash to give to Randall. While Babs is talking to the car dealer in his shop, "Con" Cornelius, just out of jail, sells the car, pockets the cash and makes a getaway. The car is bought by Jerry Bassett, who has just won the Penfield $1,000 Service and has quit his job at the laundry. (So much for service awards.) Jerry drives his flashy car to the Royal Valley, a swanky resort, where Randal is awaiting financial help from Barbara. Jerry meets Barbara on the road and gives her a lift to the hotel, thinking she is on her way there to apply for a job, and is surprised to later see her as a guest. Some things happen, Barbara sees Randall for what he really is, and decides she'd rather marry Jerry and keep the family laundry business in the hands of a real laundryman... even one who bails out when he gets his hands on a few bucks.
- A cowboy finds himself in jail for rustling cattle. His buddy gets the idea to form a lynch mob in the hopes of arranging his escape once the mob takes him out of jail. However, things don't quite work out the way he planned.

But Jake and his men have just robbed the stage and two dectectives arrive looking for them. Finding Jim and Scrubby instead, they assume them to be the outlaws and arrest them.

Kickabout finds a cryptogram as to the gold's location and Sergeant Kinkaid solves the puzzle. But Jackson learns of the gold's location and to get it, he sets out to dynamite the dam that would flood the entire communuty.
- A thug robs and kills a fur trapper. He is caught and locked up by the Mounties, but is soon broken out by his partner. As the Mounties investigate, they discover that the two are part of a ruthless crime ring run by a female gangster.
