But before they can realize and express how they truly feel, peer pressure causes Popoy to betray Gina. He has been eyed for a promotion but is hindered by rumors about his sexual orientation. His friends press-ganged on him to validate his manhood by saying that he has slept with Gina. Gina doubts their friendship and Popoy's sincerity--he might have been like any other guy after all. Learning that the one true thing in this cynical world might turn out to be a sham breaks Gina's heart. Popoy, in all his guilt, decides to give up that world in which he thrived and survived. Gina finds out Popoy's sacrifice and runs back into his arms. They both realize that happiness lies on the love they have for each and not on the luster of the image they chose to project, or on their professional achievement.
