3. Angels in America (2003)

Whilst not primarily a LGBT show, one of the lead characters throughout the 5 seasons, David Fisher has been cited as the first realistic portrayal of a gay lead male character on television and is popularly regarded as one of the most beloved characters of the series. In my collection on DVD.

5. Will & Grace (1998–2020)

Gay lawyer Will and straight interior designer Grace share a New York City apartment. Their best friends are gleeful and proud gay Jack and charismatic, filthy-rich, amoral socialite Karen.
