My Personal Favorite Actorsby cjbear_10 | created - 18 Sep 2011 | updated - 18 Sep 2011 | Public
A list of actors (mainly voice actors, giving my taste for games and animation) that I thoroughly enjoy the performances of. Also, the example I give of works that the actors are involved in contain both works that I believe will help others recognize them (even if I am not fond of the work) and some of my personal favorite roles that they played.
1. Steve Blum
Actor | Star Wars: Rebels
With hundreds of V/O credits to his name, Veteran Voice Monkey Steve Blum is best known as the voice of "Spike Spiegel" from Cowboy Bebop, "Wolverine" from several incarnations of X-Men (animated movies, games, the Wolverine and the X-Men TV Series, The Super Hero Squad Show, X-Men Anime and more),...
Steve Blum is perhaps the most prolific voice-actor ever. He earned this title after gaining instant success as Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop, but has since gone on to voice at least one character in anything ever created. He has been anything from stormtroopers to the host of Toonami, Tom, to Guilmon in Digimon (which he also wrote the scipt for). Notable roles include Wolverine in almost any animated work featuring the X-Men, Grunt (an actual character, not a generic grunt, though he has been plenty of those too) in Mass Effect 2, Tank Dempsey in the Call of Duty series, and Char Aznable in the Mobile Suit Gundam Movie Trilogy.
Actor | Ark Exitus
Johnny Yong Bosch was born on January 6, 1976 in Kansas City, Missouri, USA as John Jay Bosch. He is known for his work on Ark Exitus (2020), Akira (1988) and Bleach (2004). He has been married to Amy Bosch since March 21, 2003. They have two children.
Johnny Yong Bosch is a quarter German, a quarter Irish, and half Korean. He is trained in Shaolin Kung Fu and is the lead singer/guitarist of the alt rock band Eyeshine. He got his acting start as Adam Park in Power Rangers, but found his calling in anime when he took on the role of Vash the Stampede in Trigun. Other notable roles include Ichigo in Bleach, Lelouch Lamperouge in Code Geass, Izaya Orihara in Durarara!!, and countless others.
3. Vic Mignogna
Actor | Star Trek Continues
Vic Mignogna was born on August 27, 1962 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, USA as Victor Joseph Mignogna. He is known for his work on Star Trek Continues (2013), Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos (2011) and Star Trek Continues: The Vignettes (2012). He was previously married to Seliece ...
Vic Mignogna is an American voice actor who gained immense success with his role as Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist. He generally plays teenage male roles that require plenty of emotion. Other notable roles include Junpei Iori in Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 and Broly in Dragon Ball Z. He is also a singer-songwriter.
Actress | Kyûketsuki hantâ D
Luci Christian was born on March 18, 1973 in Hico, Texas, USA as Louisa Michelle Christian. She is an actress and writer, known for Vampire Hunter D (1985), Gatchaman The Movie (1978) and One Piece (1999). She has been married to Michael Bell since April 19, 2008. They have two children. She was ...
Luci Christian has a tendency to deliver great performances. She also generally plays the easily excitable and hilarious characters of shows, but is by no means pigeon-holed. Notable Performances include Yukari Tanizaki in Azumanga Daioh, Nagisa Furukawa in Clannad, Tenma Tsukamato, and Wrath in Fullmetal Alchemist.
Actor | Evangelion Shin Gekijôban: Jo
Spike Spencer is an internationally recognized, award winning voice actor, with hundreds of roles in film, TV, animation, video games, and Anime to his credit.
He is best known for his voice work in video games, animation, and anime dubs, although he has appeared onscreen in scenes with 4 Academy ...
Spike Spencer gained instant fame when he was hired as Shinji Ikari in Neon Genesis Evangelion. Despite an extremely rough start, by the end of the series he had transformed from a fresh-faced newbie to an anime veteran. This role ultimately pigeon-holed him into playing timid, whiny teens, but he broke free with his role as Arakune (a mad scientist turned into an insect-infested blob) in BlazBlue. Other notable roles include Atsuro in Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Hanataro Yamada in Bleach, Saburo Tagusa in Durarara!!, and the playable male Blood Elf in World of Warcraft.
Tiffany Grant was born on October 11, 1968 in Houston, Texas, USA as Tiffany Lynn Grant. She is an actress and writer, known for Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion (1997), Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995) and Azumanga Daioh (2002). She was previously married to Matt Greenfield.
Tiffany Grant was, along with Spike Spencer, one of the fresh faces hired for Neon Genesis Evangelion. She played Asuka Langley Soryu, the narcissistic German-Japanese Eva pilot and has gone on to become perhaps the word's biggest Asuka fan (and a Hello Kitty fan, but that's another story). Other notable roles include Kaorin in Azumanga Daioh and Pochacco in Hello Kitty's Animation Theater. She also speaks fluent German.
7. Monica Rial
Actress | Dragon Ball Super: Doragon bôru cho
Monica Jean Rial is an American voice actress from Houston, Texas. She graduated from University of Houston. She is most well-known for voicing Bulma in the Dragon Ball franchise, Stocking in Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt and Froppy in My Hero Academia. She is one of the most prolific anime ...
Monica Rial claims to enjoy playing "girls with guns" but I have only ever seen one anime with her as an action heroine. She was Nyamo Kurosawa, a teacher, alongside Luci Christian in Azumanga Daioh. Other notable roles include Hello Kitty in Hello Kitty's Animation Theater, Momoka Nishizawa in Sgt. Frog, and Bulma in Dragon Ball Z.
Actress | Akira
Michelle Ruff was born on September 22, 1967 in Detroit, Michigan, USA as Michelle Suzanne Ruff. She is known for her work on Akira (1988), Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) and Lupin the Third: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine (2012). She has been married to Eddie J. Correa since July 27, 2017.
Michelle Ruff is everywhere. It seems that anytime a female teenager is needed in anime, Michelle Ruff will be there. All joking aside, notable roles include Yukari Takeba in Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3, Etna in Disgaea (except the PS2 version of the first game), Kiki in Gundam: 08th MS Team, Yoko Littner in Gurren Lagann, and Anri Sonohara in Durarara!!
