The Colt Navy revolver used by the characters Hawkins, Chamberlin and Pike in "Abraham Lincoln Versus Zombies" were all the same gun which is owned by Nathaniel Grauwelman (Hawkins) and bought for the grind house film he wrote.

Never have I ever thought in my entire life a seven minute zombie film would make me cry and think as much as Cargo did. As a caregiver and as an avid zombie enthusiast, it really did it for me.
This short little film at 7mins, had more human element then all of a Walking Dead season!
Tis short flies by really quickly. If anything, it starts out on a high note, and only gains in traction. It gets increasingly devastating as it goes. While you won't realize immediately "what is going on"(what the man is actually doing and why), once you do, it's a fantastic idea, and you cheer in an earnest way that few current productions inspire. Production values are excellent, everything feels real, the Romero-esque setting is entirely credible. ”

Actors Ken Foree, Scott H. Reiniger and Tom Savini all appeared in the original 1978 version of this film, but playing different characters. Ken Foree delivers the tagline he delivered as "Peter" from the 1978 version of Dawn of the Dead; "When there's no more room in Hell, the dead will walk the Earth."
The WGON traffic copter makes an appearance. The WGON traffic copter was the main transportation for the survivor in the original Dawn of the Dead.

Zack Snyder: a member of a commando unit (with shades holding an assault weapon) in front of the Capitol Building in Washington, DC. This scene can be seen during the opening credits montage of video/news clips of zombie attacks.
Visible in Luda's room is a can of something called "Smeat" - a takeoff on Spam. Smeat had previously appeared in Waterworld. The Smeat can here is circular, however - in Waterworld, the cans were rectangular, like Spam cans.
David Cronenberg's sister, Denise Cronenberg, was the costume designer on this film.
The group in the mall had named the two parking shuttles; the first one, holding Nicole, CJ, Michael, and Ana was named The Pinta, the one carrying Terry, Kenneth, Steve, Glen and Monica was named The Santa Maria.
Although he had strong reservations about some elements, George A. Romero professed to be surprisingly impressed with the film.
40 minutes shorter than George A. Romero's original director's cut for Dawn of the Dead.
Zack Snyder said that the reason his zombies run at full speed is because he wanted to avoid the inherent comic impression given by slow, shuffling undead.
The name Wooley's Diner comes from the name of the SWAT team leader in the original film
The two zombies with missing limbs (the jogger missing an arm and the legless zombie in the parking garage) were both played by actual amputees. The same thing was done for one of the first zombies seen in the original Dawn of the Dead.
Former MTV/MTV2 VJ Iann Robinson has an uncredited cameo as a zombie. When first entering the mall, the group is charged by an Asian man-turned-zombie. The large zombie behind the Asian man is played by Robinson.
One of the most gruesome "zombies" (the bloated woman killed with a fireplace poker) was actually played by a man.

The word "zombie" is never used in the film. However, the unrated, Special Edition DVD contains the word in the back-cover text describing the film's plotline.
In an aerial scene in the first 10 minutes when Ana is driving down a highway, a truck can be seen crashing into a gas station/diner. This is a reference to Night of the Living Dead, as Ben mentions he was listening to a radio in a truck in a diner parking lot when a truck crashed into the gas pumps.
The commercial on the TV when it switches to the "special report" near the beginning of the film is a commercial for a Subaru WRX that Zack Snyder directed.
Some of the trucks outside the mall are from the same company, B.P. Trucking, that loaned them to the production of the original 1978 film.
One of the clothing stores in the mall is named "Gaylen Ross". Gaylen Ross played the part of Fran in the original Dawn of the Dead.
The name of Ving Rhames' character, Kenneth, is an obvious nod to actor Ken Foree, who played a very similar role in the original Dawn of the Dead.
According to "the lost tape", which contains gun shop owner Andy's personal video diary (accessible as a bonus feature on the director's cut DVD), the main characters arrive at the mall early in the movie on May the 9th. Therefore, the movie opens a day earlier on May the 8th (Andy mentions that attacks on citizens by the undead had already started on the 7th). Andy makes his last entry just before he turns into one of the undead on June the 6th, and the movie ends on that same day (not including the footage during the end credits). This places the events of Dawn of the Dead in a space of just 29 days - and it begins and ends at dawn

A very well done zombie movie with plenty of scares and thrills. The acting of Fox & Donovan were very well done. These zombies are the ones that should have been in Will Smith's "I am Legend" film.
Adapted from the bestselling novel "Y pese a todo" from author Juan de Dios Garduno.
The movie was at one time titled "welcome to Harmony" which was the name of the town they were in.
They filmed in Budapest due to its snowy winter, but it turned out to be the first winter in over a decade with no snow at all.

Ruairi Robinson stated that as a first time director, to get to work with a cast of that caliber was amazing. On the casting process, he commented that he "sort of picked cast members that never normally do this kind of film. They all do serious proper movies". Grant Mazzy: Mrs. French's cat is missing. The signs are posted all over town. "Have you seen Honey?" We've all seen the posters, but nobody has seen Honey the cat. Nobody. Until last Thursday morning, when Miss Colette Piscine swerved her car to miss Honey the cat as she drove across a bridge. Well this bridge, now slightly damaged, is a bit of a local treasure and even has its own fancy name; Pont de Flaque. Now Collette, that sounds like Culotte. That's Panty in French. And Piscine means Pool. Panty pool. Flaque also means pool in French, so Colete Piscine, in French Panty Pool, drives over the Pont de Flaque, the Pont de Pool if you will, to avoid hitting Mrs. French's cat that has been missing in Pontypool. Pontypool. Pontypool. Panty pool. Pont de Flaque. What does it mean? Well, Norman Mailer, he had an interesting theory that he used to explain the strange coincidences in the aftermath of the JFK assasination. In the wake of huge events, after them and before them, physical details they spasm for a moment; they sort of unlock and when they come back into focus they suddenly coincide in a weird way. Street names and birthdates and middle names, all kind of superfluous things appear related to eachother. It's a ripple effect. So, what does it mean? Well... it means something's going to happen. Something big. But then, something's always about to happen.
"Pontypool" was produced as both a motion picture, and as a radio play. Both versions of "Pontypool" were influenced by Orson Welles' infamous radio production of "The War of the Worlds." The radio play was broadcast on the BBC's Art & Culture section of their World Service website. It is approximately 58 minutes long, as opposed to the film's running time of 95 minutes.
Tony Burgess, the film's writer and the author of the novel on which the film is based - "Pontypool Changes Everything" - makes a brief cameo in the film as the male singer of Lawrence and the Arabians. His character is credited as "Tony (Lawrence)". (In fact, at the end of the scene where the singers have performed for the bemused Grant Mazzy, Mazzy himself actually refers to Burgess' character as "Tony Burgess.")
Bruce McDonald, the director of the film, has said that the victims of the virus are called "conversationalists," as opposed to "zombies". In describing the stages of the virus, McDonald said: "There are three stages to this virus. The first stage is you might begin to repeat a word. Something gets stuck. And usually it's words that are terms of endearment, like sweetheart or honey. The second stage is your language becomes scrambled and you can't express yourself properly. The third stage is that you become so distraught at your condition that the only way out of the situation you feel, as an infected person, is to try and chew your way through the mouth of another person".

The comic book only had four main characters in it. The characters of Jensen and Victor were specifically created for the film.
Director Colin Theys did the voices for a lion's share of the zombies.
The old woman zombie is played by Ben Chester, the special effects makeup artist.
Special Effects Artist Ben Chester created the cage ball specifically for the film. It was so large as to be difficult to transport and was actually left chained to a dumpster outside one of the locations for the duration of the shoot. It broke on the first rehearsal, but was quickly repaired.
Norwich, CT doubled as Reno, NV. All of the skylines were replaced with CGI. Producer Andrew Gernhard and Director Colin Theys took a quick trip to Reno to shoot all of the Reno footage and horizon plates.

Being a huge fan of the old Universal monster movies, director Sean Cain made references to those old films with the characters of Frank and Sarah Talbot, played by Jack Forcinito and Nadine Stenovitch. Talbot, of course, is the family name first used in The Wolf Man (1941) by Lon Chaney Jr. and Claude Rains which reoccurred in subsequent sequels featuring Chaney. Elsa Lansing, played by Felissa Rose is based on real life actress Elsa Lanchester who was the bride in The Bride of Frankenstein (1935) and last, but not least Jimmy Williams as Henry Glendon is another werewolf reference only this time it's a combination of actor Henry Hull and his Werewolf of London (1935) character Dr. Glendon.
Shooting was momentarily halted when the LAPD arrived by foot, car, and helicopter due to a concerned citizen mistaking zombies and actors with prop weapons for gang members battling in the streets.
The LA Fire Department drove into production, in route to a nearby emergency call, mistaking the prop police car for a real one and thinking they had arrived at their destination.
During the auditions to find an actor to play Nash, one actor decided to bring his own real gun and press it against Jack Forcinito's head during the read. (Jack plays the character Frank in the movie.) The guy who brought the gun was politely dismissed.

This film marks the first time that a character from a previous Living Dead film returns to star in a sequel, with 'Alan van Sprang' as Sarge "Nicotine" Crockett having been seen in Diary of the Dead, and also playing Brubaker in Land of the Dead. The only two other times this has come close to happening was Tom Savini reprising his role of Blades from Dawn of the Dead as a cameo in Land of the Dead in zombie form, and Joseph Pilato playing an unnamed police captain in Dawn of the Dead returning to play Captain Rhodes in Day of the Dead.
The cast are all Canadian, and the movie was shot entirely in Canada.
This was the first of George A. Romero's Dead films to bomb at the box-office. It has become the least successful film in the series.

When R is talking to Julie outside her house the scene is referencing to the balcony scene of "Romeo and Juliet". R (Romeo) is talking to Julie (Juliet) on the balcony.

Despite being called "Zombi 2", the film is not a sequel to anything. When Dawn of the Dead was released under the title "Zombi" in Italy, this film was retitled "Zombi 2" to cash in on the success of the American film.
Like many Italian horror films of the time, half the cast spoke only English and the other half only Italian. Many Italian films produced for international distribution filmed without sound and recorded several dialog tracks in different languages in the studio for later overdubbing. Because the actors are speaking a number of different languages (or some are speaking a non-native language phonetically), the dubbing in all versions of the film is not 100% synchronized. Ian McCulloch, Tisa Farrow, Olga Karlatos, and Stefania D'Amario were of the main English speaking cast, while Al Cliver, Auretta Gay, and Dakar were of the main Italian-speaking cast.

With the exception of Wichita (Krista), Tallahassee's son Buck, Cynthia Nickerbocker, Edward Van Halen, Bill Murray, Bob Marley, Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe, Rob Curtis, Scotty Lynch, Willie Nelson, Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus) and Mohandas K. Gandhi, no other names are mentioned in the movie. This includes Columbus' neighbor, 406, and his made-up lover, Beverly Hills.
Wichita is the only main character whose name is revealed: Krista, named for Emma Stone's mother.
At Bill Murray's house, Wichita says that Bill looks just like Edward Van Halen, whose song "Everybody Wants Some" plays after they discover the bag of guns, and in many trailers for the film.
Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) has 32 rules for surviving Zombieland, ten of which are identified in the motion picture. As the rules are punctuated, and in the order in which they appear in the movie, they are, "Rule #1. Cardio"; "Rule #2. Double tap"; "Rule #3. Beware of bathrooms"; "Rule #4. Seatbelts"; "Rule #7. Travel light"; "Rule #31. Check the back seat"; "Rule #18. Limber up"; "Rule #22. When in doubt, know your way out"; "Rule #32. Enjoy the little things"; and "Rule #17. Don't be a hero" (later corrected to "Be a hero"). An eleventh rule of surviving Zombieland is identified in a deleted scene. As punctuated in the deleted scene, the rule is "Rule #2. Ziploc bags". In voice-over, Columbus explains, "You've got enough problems. Moisture shouldn't be one of them."
In Bill Murray's mansion, Woody Harrelson's character mentions that he is a big fan of all his movies. Harrelson starred in Kingpin (1996) with Murray.
Although his character is on a constant hunt for Twinkies, Woody Harrelson is a vegan, and does not eat Twinkies (which contain eggs and beef fat). According to Harrelson, the filmmakers made special "faux Twinkies" out of cornmeal for the scene at the end.
In the movie 'Natural Born Killers (1994)', Robert Downey Jr.'s character coined the term 'Zombieland' when talking about television audiences. This film starred Woody Harrelson.
During the Monopoly game, Jesse Eisenberg's character Columbus remarks that one of the best things about Zombieland is "No Facebook status updates". Eisenberg would go on to portray Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, in the film The Social Network (2010).
Tallahassee painted a 3 on his cars as a reference to Dale Earnhardt. Both cars that Tallahassee drove were based on the color schemes of Earnhardt's cars.
The "Zombie Kill of the Week" was leftover from the script's origin as a TV pilot. Every weekly episode would have a Zombie Kill of the Week performed by characters on the show.
The man that is eaten in the bathroom at the beginning of the film is the same person that Little Rock and Wichita did their ring scam on.
The "poor fat bastard" killed in the film's opening shows up again as the zombie "with a pretty mouth" that Tallahassee kills with a banjo in the supermarket.
The puppy that Woody Harrelson is seen playing with in a flashback belongs to Abigail Breslin.
Patrick Swayze was offered a cameo role as a zombie before his cancer diagnosis. His scene would have parodied other Swayze movies like Ghost (1990) and Dirty Dancing (1987). Zombie cameo roles were also offered to Joe Pesci, Mark Hamill, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Bacon, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Matthew McConaughey.
Woody Harrelson was arrested for marijuana possession during filming, which delayed shooting for a day.

This small little film packs a wallop! Right away it's starts on the zombie action and does not let up for a minute! Yeah! This is some talent to watch for sure. The music score was right on target and appropriate. No Oscar caliber performances here but some great decent acting with an amateur cast.
It caught me off guard in a couple scenes for some real genuine scares and made me jump! (Not an easy thing to do) The special effects were decent enough and quick enough so you don't linger on the CGI too much. There are quite a few scenes that were very good and suspenseful. Almost like an intense Video Game about Zombies , but good nonetheless.
There really isn't too much of a story line but who cares? It's all about Zombie action! I hope there is a sequel. Definitely worth watching again! Love the motorcycle scene!
