The early FOX seasons was absolutely terrifying! great water cooler conversation in high school. The Syndicated seasons were good as well. cryptids, ghosts, haunted houses, conspiracies, UFO's all done in a documentary news format, which gave it a bone chilling authentic feel.

Robert stack was a cold stoic host of this tv program. if you view america's most wanted as being analogous to a gritty true crime novel than, unsolved mysteries was a creepy neo-noir Gothic crime novel. except there's also reports on the unexplained, ufo's, ghosts etc. the fact that these were based on actual crimes made the show even more disturbing.

first and foremost i love the comic series, but the show doesn't quite reach the book's level. especially with the characterization of the female leads. but even so it's still an effective creepy survival horror zombie drama.
