Bombshell is caught between having too much style this story and not having nearly enough style for this story. It ebbs into wanting to be The Big Short, but then recedes into a bullet point drama. Robbie, Kidman and Theron all give good performances, but by no means their best. Bombshell tells an important story, but lacks focus in its telling of the story.
