The Afrika Korps was the German expeditionary force in North Africa during the Desert Campaign of World War II.

Erwin Rommel popularly known as the "Desert Fox" was designated as commander, or German field marshal.

To fight a war of tanks in the desert, the two most essential provisions were fuel and water.
