Stars: Henry Thomas, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Kate Siegel, Victoria Pedretti

Votes: 140,823

Starts off good but descends into a melodrama with so many overdrawn monologues and cheesy family problems. I wanted a horror story not some feel good story about family. I finished the first season but have no interest in seeing more.

I didn't realize what this was a remake of. When I did, I immediately lost interest. Didn't even bother with the rest of the pilot. Not that it gave a good impression at all...

5. Altered Carbon (2018– )

Stars: Chris Conner, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Will Yun Lee, Dichen Lachman

Votes: 126,710

Too "cool" and edgy for its own good. It's pretty soulless as well as a bit boring. I don't care how visually enthralling it is or whether it's action-packed. A big budget means nothing. If there are no characters to connect with then I'm only left feeling bored. The story made me roll my eyes as well. I've seen this all before and done much better. Two episodes were enough.

6. GLOW (2017– )

Votes: 18,860

Boring. One episode was enough.

8. Santa Clarita Diet (2017–2019)

Sheila and Joel are married real estate agents in Santa Clarita, California. When Sheila dies, their lives take a dark turn.

Stars: Drew Barrymore, Timothy Olyphant, Liv Hewson, Skyler Gisondo

Votes: 52,040

Every character in this sucks except for the daughter. I love Timothy Olyphant but his acting in this seems so stiff. In fact, every actor seemed stiff and awkward. This has some of the most forced acting and dialogue delivery I've ever seen in a modern show. Also, it's never funny, and it's quite gross. I don't know how I watched more than one season. I quit early on in the second.

9. Ozark (2017– )

TV-MA | 60 min | Crime, Drama, Thriller

A financial adviser drags his family from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks, where he must launder money to appease a drug boss.

Stars: Kat Foster, Moises Arias, Bar Paly, Tim Peper

Votes: 7,329

Ugh. It had potential but the forced sappy melodramatic romance and the sheer amount of screentime it gets completely ruins it. I could only tolerate a couple episodes.

Got cancelled after Season 1 with no ending.

11. Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (2016–2017)

TV-14 | 60 min | Action, Adventure, Comedy

Got cancelled after Season 1 with no ending.

12. Baskets (2016–2019)

TV-MA | 30 min | Comedy, Drama

After failing at a prestigious French clowning college, Chip Baskets looks to keep his dream of becoming a professional clown alive.

Stars: Zach Galifianakis, Martha Kelly, Louie Anderson, Alex Morris

Votes: 9,575

I was beginning to warm up to it despite its boring premise, but it became too melodramatic and predictable in its second season to the point of being insufferable. I finished the second season but I don't see myself continuing past it.

13. BrainDead (2016)

TV-14 | 44 min | Comedy, Drama, Horror

A government employee discovers that the cause of the tensions between the two political parties is a race of extraterrestrial insects eating the brains of the politicians.

Stars: Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Danny Pino, Aaron Tveit, Tony Shalhoub

Votes: 9,669

The lovely Mary Elizabeth Winstead is the only reason to watch this, but even she's not enough to make this a good show. This would've worked better as a half hour series with more emphasis on humor, and a less tame approach to the satire. As it is, it feels hollow and a little bland. I lost interest after about seven episodes.

Got cancelled after Season 1.

14. This Is Us (2016– )

TV-14 | 45 min | Comedy, Drama, Romance

A heartwarming and emotional story about a unique set of triplets, their struggles, and their wonderful parents.

Stars: Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz

Votes: 90,016

Who came up with this cheesy, hackneyed, overtly sentimental, tryhard garbage? After hearing 'emmy award-winning' dialogue like; "First came me, and dad said gee. And then came me, and mom said we, and then came me, and they said three. Big three! Big three!!" I gagged and nearly vomited all over my screen.

15. Hap and Leonard (2016–2018)

TV-MA | 60 min | Crime, Drama, Thriller

Set in the late 1980's Hap and Leonard is a darkly comic swamp noir of two best friends, one femme fatale, a crew of washed up revolutionaries, a pair of murderous psycho killers, some lost loot, and the fuzz.

Stars: James Purefoy, Michael Kenneth Williams, Tiffany Mack, Cranston Johnson

Votes: 6,210

Moronic garbage.

Got cancelled after Season 3.

16. Westworld (2016– )

Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, explore a world in which every human appetite can be indulged without consequence.

Stars: Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright, Ed Harris, Thandie Newton

Votes: 382,531

A nihilistic rape, torture and murder fetishist's wet dream. Completely void of any substance. It paints such a horrible view of humanity and sends out a disturbingly negative message. It's a disgusting show lacking any kind of morality.

17. Preacher (2016–2019)

TV-MA | 60 min | Adventure, Drama, Fantasy

After a supernatural event at his church, a preacher enlists the help of a vampire and his ex to find God.

Stars: Dominic Cooper, Joseph Gilgun, Ruth Negga, Ian Colletti

Votes: 63,673

I gave it around six episodes before giving up. The characters were unlikable and boring, the plot was nonexistent, and the pacing was excruciatingly slow. I also didn't like the dark edgelord tone and humor. It seemed too immature and tryhard.

18. The Shannara Chronicles (2016–2017)

TV-14 | 42 min | Adventure, Fantasy, Sci-Fi

Series of adventures, war, and evil that occur throughout the history of the Four Lands.

Stars: Austin Butler, Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett, Aaron Jakubenko

Votes: 51,986

It definitely feels like MTV made this. This is clearly aimed towards teens and is more concerned about being 'hip' and 'cool' with dialogue like "epic" to appeal to that demographic. There's even anachronistic music in this. Apart from that, the acting is about on par with Xena: The Warrior Princess and the story is about as barebones as you can get; evil demons locked in a realm by a magical tree, an ancient druid comes back to warn everyone, the main characters are all gorgeous teens who know more than their elders and are the key to saving the planet. I made it through about halfway into the pilot before losing patience with all the modern romance songs and shallow writing.

Got cancelled after Season 2 with no ending.

19. American Crime Story (2016– )

TV-MA | 42 min | Biography, Crime, Drama

An anthology series centered around America's most notorious crimes and criminals.

TV-MA | 60 min | Crime, Drama

Votes: 26,791

Laaaaaaame. I watched half of the first season and just couldn't take anymore.

22. Narcos (2015–2017)

TV-MA | 49 min | Biography, Crime, Drama

A chronicled look at the criminal exploits of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, as well as the many other drug kingpins who plagued the country through the years.

Stars: Pedro Pascal, Wagner Moura, Boyd Holbrook, Alberto Ammann

Votes: 322,355

The first season was interesting, but I lost interest when I got to the end and realized they were saving the conclusion for the second season. How does it make sense to cover over a decade's worth of history in ten episodes and then save the final year for another ten episodes? The second season is all about hunting Pablo, interspersed with excessive murders and bombings. It just seems like an excuse to stretch the story out for ratings. And now the third and fourth seasons are going to focus on new cartel leaders. Well, I'm not interested, considering how boring the protagonist is. This should've been nothing more than a mini-series.

23. Fear the Walking Dead (2015– )

TV-MA | 44 min | Drama, Horror, Sci-Fi

A Walking Dead spin-off, set in Los Angeles, following two families who must band together to survive the undead apocalypse.

Stars: Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane, Cliff Curtis, Rubén Blades

Votes: 105,343

Legitimately one of the worst television shows I've ever watched. The first season was only six episodes so I gave them all a chance, but I won't be returning for the second.

24. Lucifer (2015– )

Lucifer Morningstar has decided he's had enough of being the dutiful servant in Hell and decides to spend some time on Earth to better understand humanity. He settles in Los Angeles - the City of Angels.

Awful.

25. The Man in the High Castle (2015–2019)

TV-MA | 60 min | Drama, Sci-Fi, Thriller

In a dystopian America dominated by Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, a young woman discovers a mysterious film that may hold the key to toppling the totalitarian regimes.

Stars: Alexa Davalos, Luke Kleintank, Rufus Sewell, Rupert Evans

Votes: 77,593

Lifeless and shallow. A mediocre snoozefest. I watched the pilot, skipped the eight episodes of filler in between since I'm not gullible, and continued with the finale. The only improvement made was the writers included actual German dialogue in the script. They didn't adhere to amending the rest of the series' problems, however.

26. Mad Dogs (2015– )

M | 56 min | Comedy, Crime, Drama

A group of guys travel to Belize to see an old friend, when things take an unexpectedly dark turn.

Stars: Ben Chaplin, Michael Imperioli, Romany Malco, Steve Zahn

Votes: 7,511

It's got a good cast and a good setting, but the characters are obnoxious and the plot is repetitive and silly.

Got cancelled after Season 1.

27. Supergirl (2015– )

TV-PG | 43 min | Action, Adventure, Drama

The adventures of Superman's cousin in her own superhero career.

Stars: Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Mehcad Brooks

Votes: 105,389

She cute, though.

28. Outlander (2014– )

TV-MA | 64 min | Drama, Fantasy, Romance

An English combat nurse from 1945 is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743.

Stars: Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Duncan Lacroix, Sophie Skelton

Votes: 106,702

Became too much of a soap opera. Lead actress is irritating. Most characters are boring. I quit a few episodes into the third season.

29. The 100 (2014– )

TV-14 | 43 min | Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi

Set ninety-seven years after a nuclear war has destroyed civilization, when a spaceship housing humanity's lone survivors sends one hundred juvenile delinquents back to Earth, in hopes of possibly re-populating the planet.

Stars: Eliza Taylor, Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropoulos, Isaiah Washington

Votes: 190,729

The premise is completely silly, but potentially fun. My curiosity was piqued when I saw that Lt. Gaeta from Battlestar Galactica and Desmond from Lost were in the cast list, but the show unfortunately focuses on a lot of really unlikable and poorly acted characters. The lead actress is especially irritating, with a very uptight and super self-serious attitude. The series doesn't even focus on survival. The 100 juvenile prisoners crashland on a supposedly radiated Earth and what do they do? They start bickering and having relationship issues, while occasionally being in awe at the utopia that Earth's miraculously become. There'd even be pop songs playing in the background as some of the characters swam or threw parties in the forest. Other characters went crazy for seemingly no reason other than to force tension and conflict. I couldn't sit through the pilot, though I skipped to some of the other episodes including the finale and saw that there wasn't much improvement.

30. Marco Polo (2014–2016)

TV-MA | 60 min | Adventure, Drama, History

In a world replete with greed, betrayal, sexual intrigue and rivalry, "Marco Polo" is based on the famed explorer's adventures in Kublai Khan's court in 13th century Mongolia.

Stars: Lorenzo Richelmy, Benedict Wong, Joan Chen, Remy Hii

Votes: 59,829

It actually became a challenge to stay awake while watching this, so I bailed after the third or fourth episode. Go in with low expectations... they put a lot of money into this but not a lot of effort into the characters or writing.

Got cancelled after Season 2 with no ending.

31. The Strain (2014–2017)

TV-MA | 43 min | Drama, Horror, Thriller

A mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism ravages the city of New York.

Stars: Corey Stoll, David Bradley, Kevin Durand, Jonathan Hyde

Votes: 73,277

The first season was a near-colossal mess. I took a sneak peak at an episode from season two, and it seems that the writers' brains have been bludgeoned even further. Why waste time on a show that almost takes pride in how retarded it can get?

32. Detectorists (2014–2017)

Not Rated | 30 min | Comedy

The lives of two eccentric metal detectorists, who spend their days plodding along ploughed tracks and open fields, hoping to disturb the tedium by unearthing the fortune of a lifetime.

Stars: Mackenzie Crook, Toby Jones, Rachael Stirling, Gerard Horan

Votes: 9,350

For such a cute premise I'm not sure why they made the characters so damn unlikable. Just about everyone in this show is an annoying jerk. I've seen most of the first season and I found it all so pointless.

33. The Flash (2014– )

TV-PG | 43 min | Action, Adventure, Drama

After being struck by lightning, Barry Allen wakes up from his coma to discover he's been given the power of super speed, becoming the Flash, fighting crime in Central City.

Stars: Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes

Votes: 292,979

The few episodes I saw of it were mediocre although I suppose it's suitable for children.

34. Review (2014–2017)

TV-14 | 30 min | Comedy

A critic takes aim at intense real-life experiences in lieu of food or cinema. Fair game includes divorce, anonymous sex, and all manner of criminal activity.

Stars: Andrew Daly, Jessica St. Clair, Megan Stevenson, Michael Croner

Votes: 4,743

An interesting and funny idea. It's different. But the execution wasn't the best. They should've cast someone funnier and the episodes should have been a bit shorter; perhaps 16 minutes instead of 21. I got bored after the third episode.

35. Z Nation (2014–2018)

TV-14 | 44 min | Action, Comedy, Drama

Three years after the zombie virus has gutted the United States of America a team of everyday heroes must transport the only known survivor of the plague from New York to California, where the last functioning viral lab waits for his blood.

It just seemed too shallow to me and there was nothing to like about any of the characters, so I gave up after the first two episodes.

39. The Americans (2013–2018)

TV-MA | 44 min | Crime, Drama, Mystery

At the height of the Cold War two Russian agents pose as your average American couple, complete with family.

Stars: Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys, Keidrich Sellati, Holly Taylor

Votes: 77,239

It has an intriguing premise but the leads lack charisma and the structure of the story is far too weak to hold my interest. This is one of the most repetitive premium shows currently on TV. I watched over half of the season and gave up as I hated the characters.

40. Almost Human (2013–2014)

TV-14 | 60 min | Action, Crime, Drama

In a not-so-distant future, a human cop and an android partner up to protect and serve.

Stars: Luke Newberry, Harriet Cains, Marie Critchley, Steve Cooper

Votes: 12,332

Heavy-handed in its approach and too boring. It would've been a fine idea for a feature film rather than stretched to fit a series format. I didn't see reason to continue past the pilot.

42. Bates Motel (2013–2017)

TV-MA | 45 min | Drama, Horror, Mystery

A contemporary prequel to Psycho, giving a portrayal of how Norman Bates' psyche unravels through his teenage years, and how deeply intricate his relationship with his mother, Norma, truly is.

Got cancelled after Season 2 with no ending.

46. Lilyhammer (2012–2014)

TV-MA | 45 min | Comedy, Crime, Drama

8
