Nikki Wong and Jonesy Garcia are the main couple of "6teen". Since early childhood, Nikki and Jonesy have been best friends and are members of their inner group alongside, Jen, Wyatt, Jude and Caitlin.
Jonesy and Nikki are shown to be opposites as Jonesy is a prank loving womaniser while Nikki is a punk who is both smart and highly independent. Due to their different personalities, Jonesy and Nikki tend to clash and argue on various occasions, but despite their differences, they secretly harbour strong romantic feelings for each other, but are afraid to admit their true feelings. Eventually, halfway into the first season, Jonesy gathers the courage to ask Nikki on a date, but when their friends learn of their feelings, they attempt to prevent their relationship from happening, fearing a potential break up which could tear the gang apart. Despite their friends interference, Jonesy and Nikki have a great time and almost share their first kiss, but don’t start a relationship to which Nikki later admits she doesn’t want to jeopardise their friendship with the group and wishes for them to remain friends which Jonesy respects. By the end of the season, however, Jonesy and Nikki officially become a couple after Nikki helps Jonesy get rid of his crazy ex-girlfriend and the two share their first kiss.
Jonesy and Nikki continue their relationship during the second season until their 3 month anniversary when they both begin to feel the pressure from their friends as well as realizing they are in an actual serious relationship together, resulting in them having a horrible anniversary. In the end, Nikki decides to break up with Jonesy, realizing she isn’t ready for a serious relationship yet, leaving him upset and heartbroken. Following their break-up, Jonesy and Nikki resume their friendship and while Jonesy goes back to his old womanising ways, Nikki later starts a short lived relationship with bad boy, Stone. However, despite their break-up, Nikki and Jonesy continue to show they still love each other and their feelings grow stronger throughout. By the end of the season, Nikki and Jonesy finally begin to confront their feelings again when everyone begins to prepare for the Winter Formal, but despite wanting to go with each other, Nikki and Jonesy both remain stubborn and refuse to admit they still have feelings for each other.
By the time the dance arrives, Nikki is forced to stay at work while Jonesy goes with Tara, one of the most popular at their school, but has a miserable time and later dumps her when Jonesy sees her for who she truly is and goes to reconcile with Nikki. Eventually after a long search, Jonesy finds Nikki and finally confronts her about the real reason why she really ended their relationship, resulting in them finally confronting and confessing their true feelings. Nikki admits Jonesy is the most important person in her life and Jonesy doesn’t want to be with anyone else, but her and officially asks her to the dance. Nikki happily accepts and the two share a passionate romantic kiss and officially get back together. Since then, Jonesy and Nikki commit to a serious romantic relationship throughout the rest of the series and although they still tend to argue and bicker at times, their relationship continues to grow stronger than ever before.
In the fourth and final season, Jonesy and Nikki continue to realize how much they truly love each other, with Nikki officially declaring her love for him in the premiere and Jonesy realizes Nikki is "The One". By the end of the season, however, Jonesy and Nikki are fearful when Nikki learns her family is moving away. Despite the various efforts of Jonesy and their friends, Nikki is forced to move away and both decide they should break up, worried they will not be able to handle long distance. In the end, however, Jonesy and Nikki decide not to break up and commit to a long distance relationship and remain together by the end of the series.
