We promise we'll stop mentioning it, but there wasn't a better performance in a film all last year than Toni Collette's masterfully multifaceted turn in Hereditary. So obvs, we were hoping to hear her name called when Oscar noms were announced on Tuesday (especially after she took home Best Actress at the Gotham Awards). And obvs, that didn't happen. It's a shame, especially since Hereditary is the only horror film that will matter in a decade, and Collette is a huge part of the reason why. Then again, Academy voters have never exactly been known for their prescience.
