Live-Action Remake of the Week
Netflix is going all-in on anime. Not only is it adding a bevy of titles in 2019 — including the world streaming debut of the esoteric mecha-series "Neon Genesis Evangelion" — it's upping the ante with a live-action adaption of one of the most beloved anime series of all time, "Cowboy Bebop." Understandably, fan reaction has been mixed (have you seen "Death Note"?!?) but with original animated series director Shin'ichirô Watanabe listed as a consultant, and Thor: Ragnarok writer Christopher L. Yost slated to pen the first episode, perhaps the pessimism is unfounded. Perhaps.
'Candyman,' 'Chucky' and even more reboots in the works
