Director/Writer- 1st Choice

Just saw Midsommer and loved it. Hereditary is also really good but with both movies dealing with lost and grief I fell like this will be an excellent choice for him to tackle that important aspect to make it have weight in the film. Plus this adaption will allow him to expand on that story aspect later by a father willing to do anything to get his son back. He would be a fantastic choice to direct this adaption.

2. Jean-Marc Vallée

Director | C.R.A.Z.Y.

Jean-Marc Vallée was a Canadian filmmaker, editor and screenwriter from Montreal. He directed Black List, C.R.A.Z.Y., The Young Victoria, Wild, Dallas Buyers Club, Los Locos, Loser Love and Café de Flore. He also created the HBO shows Big Little Lies and Sharp Objects. He was married to Chantal ...

Director/Writer- 2nd Choice

If anyone has seen any of his films and his incredible first season of both Sharp Objects and Big Little Lies are some of the most fantastic and amazing pieces of television ever put on screen. So it would be a no brainier for him to tackle a film like this with a story so engaging that a filmmaker like himself will put his incredible and trippy stamp onto this story.

3. Aneesh Chaganty

Writer | Searching

Aneesh Chaganty is known for Searching (2018), Run (2020) and Missing (2023).

Director- 3rd Choice

I feel like some directors like him and Denis Villeneuve with his film Prisoners it seems like both directors have already made their father on their search for their missing child film. But the reason why I feel like he would be a better choice is for one Denis is super busy and I feel like this guy is a up and coming filmmaker so giving him this shot would be awesome. But basically he already has made this film with Searching. But this will deal with more characters and would be more grander in scale so he would be a good choice. Plus their is a huge scientific futuristic element in the film and I feel like this guy will make that believable.

4. Reinaldo Marcus Green

Director | King Richard

Reinaldo Marcus Green was born on December 16, 1981 in Bronx, New York, USA. He is a director and producer, known for King Richard (2021), We Own This City (2022) and Monsters and Men (2018).

Director- 4th Choice

This guy is insanely talented and I feel like this guy will bring something new and fresh that you wont see in this adaption mainly going into making both gray characters with them not being so black and white. This films needs you to believe that no one is the killer and with that you need characters to seem real and genuine. I love his first movie Monsters and Men and thought every character felt real and truly heartbreaking because he is not going for the cheap thrill or manipulated stories he truly is showing you all aspects in a story from all viewpoints and dealing with multiple characters will be this guy's best work.

5. Matt Duffer

Writer | Stranger Things

Matt Duffer of The Duffer Brothers, born in Durham, February 15, 1984, is a writer, producer, and director for film and television. He is most known as the creator and showrunner of the hit Netflix Sci-Fi TV series Stranger Things. Other works include the thriller film Hidden and he has written ...

The Duffer Bros.

6. Ross Duffer

Writer | Stranger Things

Ross Duffer is known for Stranger Things (2016), We All Fall Down (2005) and Wayward Pines (2015). He has been married to Leigh Janiak since December 22, 2015.

The Duffer Bros. -5th Choice.

It's no fluke that this guys have strike gold with Stranger Things because this guys have made something true revelation for all audiences to enjoy. Which makes sense again to get someone who is experience with dealing a story with multiple characters. Maybe only as writers these guys will contribute something magical because this adaptation can be goofy and silly but with these liniment of directors it can be something great.

7. Patty Jenkins

Director | Wonder Woman

Patty Jenkins is a writer/director best known for directing Wonder Woman, the Warner Bros./DC Comics blockbuster of 2017, and her debut feature Monster. Patty also works in television where she is best known for the pilot and finale episode of AMC's hit show The Killing.

Patty began her career as a ...

Director- 6th Choice.

Let us give this woman some love because so many directors after making superhero movies go on tho tackle more highly successful blockbusters and I feel like with Wonder Woman, Monster, I am Night, and of course the episodes of The Killing she directed are all crafted so beautifully that she needs to be making more movies dealing with this type of subject and she would be an amazing choice for a project like this.

8. John Krasinski

Actor | Jack Ryan

American actor John Krasinski is known for his role as sardonic nice guy Jim Halpert on NBC's popular TV sitcom, The Office (2005), for which he won a 2007 and 2008 Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series.

Born John Burke Krasinski on October 20, 1979,...

Director- 7th Choice & even Ethan Mars- 1st Choice

Think about it how cool would it be to see him do double duty again like he did with A Quiet Place. It is an incredible feet this guy has done over the years really changing his image to be the guy from the Office to now one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood with this the Jack Ryan series and plus people will be looking onto his next project. As for Ethan I think he would be a good choice whoever directs the film because I know he is a great actor.

9. Tobey Maguire

Actor | Brothers

Tobias Vincent Maguire was born in Santa Monica, California. His parents were 18 and 20, and not yet married, when he was born. His mother, Wendy (Brown), did advertising, publicity, and acting in Hollywood for years as she coached and managed Tobey. His father, Vincent Maguire, was a cook and ...

Ethan Mars- 2nd Choice

Give this guy more work because he is more than capable than tackling a role like this. Tobey is old enough to play a father of two and I think he would be more than capable n doing something like this. Of course there is the Spider-Man discussion because it will be brought up but this guy is a great actor and if Hugh Jackman can play a grieving father whose child was kidnapped then he can do the same.

10. Toby Kebbell

Actor | Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Toby Kebbell was born in 1982 in Pontefract, Yorkshire. He then moved to Nottinghamshire, where he grew up. Aged 17 he joined the Central Television Workshop in Nottingham.

Toby's breakthrough came when Shane Meadows saw him at the Central Television Workshop and cast him in the role of Anthony in ...

Ethan Mars- 3rd Choice

If we are going by look then I would say he does fit the bill because he does have a resemblance of Ethan as long as he has the beard. Plus it is a good thing he is a great actor. Now yes he has had some flops and huge ones. Because of that I am very hesitant to make him the lead but he is an incredible actor because he is old enough to be a dad just like thew other actors and he could pull off this role as an everyday man. But again he has had so many flops.

11. Diego Luna

Actor | Rogue One

Diego Luna Alexander was born on December 29, 1979 in Mexico City, Mexico, to Alejandro Luna and Fiona Alexander, who worked as a costume designer. His father is Mexican and his mother was British, of Scottish and English descent. His mother died in a car accident when Diego was only two. He soon ...

Ethan Mars- 4th Choice

Listen I get it. I don't want to race bend any of these characters off of Heavy Rain. However, it is so obvious that this video game have a shit ton of white people on screen. And hell I get it but listen if we are going into actors who I think can pull of being a father going thru lost and regret then I believe he would be a great actor for the job. Again if I would hand the script to Diego Luna with no mention of the race of Ethan then he would nail it. That is the point of casting. Handing an actor a script and having them read it to their best ability which makes sense. Plus if you want to cynical then he has a billion dollar movie on his resume.

12. John David Washington

Actor | Tenet

John David Washington is an American actor, producer, and former professional football player. He played college football at Morehouse College and signed with the St. Louis Rams as an Undrafted free agent in 2006. Professionally, Washington spent four years as the running back for the United ...

Ethan Mars- 5th Choice

Again you can change the race to the character without taking away the essence of the original story. But come on BlackKklansman, Monsters and Men, and even The Old Man with the Gun. Which even with him playing a cop/detective three times already I was thinking as Norman Jayden but how bout we change it up a bit. Because this guy has range and he would be incredible in this film.

13. Shiri Appleby

Actress | The Thirteenth Floor

Shiri jumped in front of the lens as a youngster appearing in Norman Lear Sunday Dinner and Lawrence Kasden's I Love You To Death. At 19 she had her breakout performance on the series Roswell, playing the leading role of Liz Parker. She went on to appear in ER, Six Degrees, as well as Mike Nichols'...

Madison Paige- 1st Choice

How has no one and I mean no one has point her on the map to be in almost everything. Brilliant stone cold brilliant in Unreal. So go watch that and see what a true strong individual who can hold their own in a crowd and she would be perfect to play Madison. She even kind of looks like Madison.

14. Jessica Rothe

Actress | Happy Death Day

Rothe was born Jessica Rothenberg on May 28, 1987 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Steve and Susan Rothenberg. Jessica is known for her role in the Academy-award winning film La La Land (2016). She came into limelight starring as Tree Gelbman in the horror- thriller, Happy Death Day (2017). ...

Madison Paige- 2nd Choice

A very close second to play Madison Paige because she does own herself as a leading lady in the Happy Death Day movies and criminally underrated. I know that sometimes the brand carries movies not stars but because of that brand it brings forth actors to give more range to pull off amazing scenes and real emotionally weight that I have seen from her as a leading lady.

15. María Valverde

Actress | Exodus: Gods and Kings

She began acting in 2002, when film director Manuel Martin Cuenca chose her from 3000 girls to be the lead actress in his film "The Bolshevik's Weakness." One year later, Maria's work impressed both the audience and the Spanish Film Academy, who awarded her with the Goya for Best Newcomer. Since ...

Madison Paige- 3rd Choice

She is amazing. Flat out wonderful in a ton of films that are from Spain. Hollywood movies tho are a different story but give her this shot to make something. Incredible in Madrid, 1987 and she would be great in this role.

16. Katrina Law

Actress | Arrow

Ever since she was a child growing up in South Jersey, Katrina Law had more energy than she knew what to do with. Her mother (being the brilliant mother that she is) recognized this at an early age and enrolled Katrina in a variety of activities ranging from dance and gym classes to karate lessons,...

Madison Page- 4th Choice

She was great on Arrow (I mean of what I watched) But she definitely has the acting the chops for this role. Again I think Madison is one hell of a character and she can own the role so well if written perfectly.

17. Adam Scott

Actor | Parks and Recreation

Adam Scott was born in Santa Cruz, California, the son of Anne and Dougald Scott. He has two older siblings, Shannon and David. Scott has said that his brother David "looks like me but is far more cerebral and inherited the intellect of our parents," both of whom are retired teachers. He graduated ...

Norman Jayden- 1st Choice

Now yes I understand that he is a comedian or has been in a lot of comedic roles throughout his career but I am telling you if you are not watching Big Little Lies then you would see why I want him as Norman Jayden. Because Adam can be one mean son a bitch but a guy who is focused and has one thing on his mind. He can bring comedic elements to the role and it is warranted because I would love to see this guy take this challenge. He is so talented that I think he can do it.

18. Trevante Rhodes

Actor | Moonlight

Trevante Nemour Rhodes is an American actor. He won several accolades and achieved recognition in 2016 for his performance as Chiron in the Academy Award-winning film Moonlight. In his youth, he was an accomplished track and field sprinter, winning a gold medal at the Pan American Junior Athletics ...

Norman Jayden- 2nd Choice

This is one where I certainly do not mind if they race bend. Because holy crap I can definitely see Trevante Rhodes play this character. I mean have you seen Moonlight. This guy can take his material serious and I really like this new rendition of a detective who is intimidating with his mind. Which Trevante being a huge guy can be tricky but I also think some fight scenes will make it believable.

19. Matt Bomer

Actor | In Time

Matthew Staton Bomer was born in Webster Groves, Greater St. Louis, Missouri, to Elizabeth Macy (Staton) and John O'Neill Bomer IV, a Dallas Cowboys draft pick. Matt was raised in Spring, Texas, and educated at Klein High School, near Houston. After school, he attended Carnegie Mellon University in...

Norman Jayden- 3rd Choice

This guy has it all. And Norman Jayden is a huge part in why Heavy Rain works at being a mystery. Which I was happy to see him get cast as a superhero in Doom Patrol, but his face is covered most of the time. But here his stone cold demeanor would be incredible to have as a detective. I have no doubt that this guy would do an amazing job because David Cage knows how to write a mystery and I know for a doubt he can carry you throughout this adaptation.

20. Richard Coyle

Actor | Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Richard Coyle was born and raised in Sheffield, in the UK with his four brothers. He began his career when, studying languages and the history of art at York University (1992 - 1995), he got interested in student drama and traveled to the Edinburgh festival twice.

A decision to raise funds to study ...

21. Holt McCallany

Actor | Mindhunter

In a career spanning over 30 years, Holt McCallany has worked with some of the world's best directors including David Fincher, Guillermo Del Toro, David O'Russell, Guy Ritchie, William Friedkin, Lawrence Kasdan, Walter Hill, Clint Eastwood, David Twohy, Brian De Palma, and Michael Mann among others.

...

Scott Shelby- 1st Choice

It sucks because I considered both his Mindhunter co star Jonathan Groff as Norman Jayden but again this might feel like a given because he is playing a detective again. However, they are differences with Scott and huge differences no spoilers. But I would be thrilled to see him get the role.

22. Brendan Gleeson

Actor | Calvary

Brendan Gleeson was born in Dublin, Ireland, to Pat and Frank Gleeson. From a very young age, he loved to learn, especially reading classical text in and outside the classroom. He took great attention to Irish play writers such as Samuel Beckett, which eventually led to him performing in his high ...

Scott Shelby- 2nd Choice

I was looking through his past roles and was thinking has he ever played a detective? He played a cop in The Guard which he was really good in. Which I he would be a fantastic Scott Shelby because he has all the making of this great character. Quiet, touching, and extremely scary. Because you need someone who has the look of a person who cares with enough pathos that can carry this story of fatherhood which makes it so important.
