IMDb Editors' Picks: What to Watch in April4 of 11
The Lost City of Z
I became a fan of writer/director James Gray's work when I saw his excellent film, Two Lovers (2008). His follow-up, the 2013 period drama The Immigrant, cemented his reputation as a master craftsman. With The Lost City of Z, Gray unveils his most ambitious project yet. The film, which Gray describes as "David Lean but with a slightly more hallucinogenic feel," tells the amazing true story of Percy Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam), a British explorer who disappeared in the Amazon jungle in 1925 while searching for an ancient lost city. Filmed on location in Colombia, The Lost City of Z promises a return to the grand-scale adventure filmmaking of the '60s. — Matt
