This may be controversial but I really enjoyed his joker, not being a comic book fan I didn't have specific expectations, so though he may have not portrayed the real joker well, his own version was terrific. Also in Dallas Buyers Club & Requiem for a Dream he goes above and beyond, in some insightful performances.
