It is my number 1 favorite film in the franchise it stays in my heart forever. A Nightmare on Elm Street the original Craven's Classic slasher horror film written and directed by Wes Craven! I am a big fan of this film I have a poster hang on my door in my room, my girlfriend give it to me as a gift she is the best! My favorite slasher horror film of all time! The best horror flick I have ever seen and the only best movie in the whole franchise!!!!!! I love this film to death, I love it!!! Heather Langenkamp is excellent in her role as the main protagonist in this film. She's legendary unique teen heroine a very attractive, and gives 100% as Tina's friend Nancy Thompson who starts to have the same nightmares. The first film is so original, realistic, and overall terrifying horror classic slasher flick that is actually happening in dreams, a sociopath child killer with sharp clawed glove who has knives in stead for a fingers, can enter into your dreams. If he kills you in your dreams, you're dead for real. The main protagonist is Nancy Thompson a teenager where her friends start dying and are killed one by one from Freddy Krueger, she try's to warn people from Freddy coming in to their dreams, but no one listens to her not her father the Sheriff not her mom or her friends. Her parents hold a dark secret from her long ago. She is alone in this and she has to fight him by her self by going back in to her dreams and get Freddy out of her dream in to the real world. Nancy the character was so clever, smart and intense carefully. She was awesome unique legendary heroine did you see how she put booby-traps for Freddy? Awesome!

My Second Favorite Freddy film is A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors (1987). The first and this movie are the best in the series So I am torn between A Nightmare on Elm Street the Original and Dream Warriors. I have posters of both of them. I have a t-shirt of this film 2 posters of this film. So this movie makes my favorite Freddy film in the Elm Street series. I love this movie to death! Dream Warriors is definitely the best sequel of all time! My number 1 sequel horror slasher film in the series franchise! A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 is my number one favorite best film in the franchise that I just love this film to death! I love the song Dream Warriors by Dokken to death one of my favorite songs of all time. But in this movie Nancy Thompson dies and I am not pleased with that scene at all. Nancy Thompson is my favorite heroine she shouldn't die. This is Patricia Arquette's first and best movie. I have a t-shirt about Dreams Warriors and a frame poster about Dream Warriors hang in my room. I have poster of the original film so much I love this two movies they are equal to me. Each of their own it is made on a unige style. I am A Nightmare on Elm Street fan it is my favorite franchise.

3. Freddy vs. Jason (2003)

Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees return to terrorize the teenagers of Elm Street. Only this time, they're out to get each other, too.

Votes: 127,240 | Gross: $82.62M

My 3d Favorite film is Freddy Vs. Jason - Evil vs Evil - awesome slasher movie about Freddy and Jason my all time favorite decent horror film. It already made 20th year anniversary so it is one of my favorite Freddy films of all time!!!! I love this horror film I rented Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare on VHS in the video store for this movie. Freddy vs. Jason kicks ass! I love those two titans of terror who enter into a horrifying and gruesome showdown -- Winner kills all! Freddy kicked the living shit out of Jason. Also this a Freddy movie and I thought it was great. Jason does most of the kills but Freddy is the one that steals this movie and I enjoy it very much.

10/10 Grade A

4. New Nightmare (1994)

R | 112 min | Fantasy, Horror, Mystery

64 Metascore

A demonic force has chosen Freddy Krueger as its portal to the real world. Can Heather Langenkamp play the part of Nancy one last time and trap the evil trying to enter our world?

Director: Wes Craven | Stars: Heather Langenkamp, Robert Englund, Jf Davis, Miko Hughes

Votes: 64,147 | Gross: $18.09M

Number 4 Favorite Film is Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994) is one of the best horror films of the 90's. Possibly the second best Elms Street entry. But in my opinion A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988) is much better than this. I just love this film to death! I love this film because it is Wes Craven direction debut. Wes Craven did write and directed this film. In this film, Freddy is depicted as closer to what Craven originally intended, being more menacing and less comical, with a greatly updated attire and appearance. The film is very scary and it does involve Freddy coming in to a real world. Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp) returns this time Heather plays her self and she defeats the third time Freddy but this time it is different than it was in the first film. I can always watch A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984),A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988) and New Nightmare and those three films just kick ass and they are my favorite horror slasher films in the genre! I love this movie so much mostly for the real world setting and the return of the characters from the first movie. Heather Langenkamp is the essential leading lady for a horror franchise. One aspect of this film I really liked was how Robert Englund just played himself and "Freddy" was more of a demonic killer from Hell. If you're looking for the scariest impersonation of Freddy, this is the one to watch. The story is about the original cast members of the first Freddy film being haunted by a "reel" Freddy. This movie is so good it stands on its own! New Nightmare is a 10.year anniversary of Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) which that also counts in this film and it is mentioned in here!

5. A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988)

R | 93 min | Horror

56 Metascore

Freddy Krueger returns once again to terrorize the dreams of the remaining Dream Warriors, as well as those of a young woman who may be able to defeat him for good.

Director: Renny Harlin | Stars: Robert Englund, Rodney Eastman, John Beckman, Kisha Brackel

Votes: 61,604 | Gross: $49.37M

My Fifth favorite is A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988) is with the original "Elm Street" It is hard to choose between the original Nightmare On Elm Street, 3: Dream Warriors and 4: The Dream Master I have all 3 posters. Biggest Nightmare on Elm Street Fan ever! I love this movie to death. Excellent horror slasher sequel in A Nightmare on Elm Street series franchise. I love this movie to death and my favorite heroine is Alice Johnson. Tuesday Knight blow my heart away she was the heart and the soul of this movie. She wrote performed the theme song Nightmare for this film. I wish she would be the main heroine she is still wonderful to watch. This flick is Better than part 2,5,6 and the horrible awful remake that I hate to death! We have a new heroine named Alice, which is awesome. Lisa Wilcox is a bad ass in this flick, wondering what happened to that actress. Lisa Wilcox did an excellent job as shy heroine Alice. I love the 4th one and the original to death that I can't decide which one should I put as first so I put this one first I enjoy both of the movies.

10/10 Grade: Bad Ass Seal Of Approval

6. Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991)

R | 89 min | Fantasy, Horror

39 Metascore

Dream-haunting Freddy Krueger returns once again to prowl the nightmares of Springwood's last surviving teenager, and of a woman whose personal connection to Krueger may mean his doom.

Director: Rachel Talalay | Stars: Robert Englund, Lisa Zane, Shon Greenblatt, Lezlie Deane

Votes: 50,962 | Gross: $34.87M

Number 6 is Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare is a goofy but I like it. It was the first movie I saw bits and pieces. I rented the VHS and I also do have the poster about this film in my bed room. The remake would have been the worst one. But I don't hate none of these films. I am a big fan of A Nightmare on Elm Street movies. I have 1,3 and this movie a poster. I preorder part 4 on poster too. Freddy's Dead I like. Johnny Depp is ina cameo scene. The final act and the song played on end credits is why this movie for me is not the worst film ever, actually it is so bad that it is so good.

9/10 Grade: -A

7. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985)

R | 87 min | Horror

43 Metascore

A teenage boy is haunted in his dreams by deceased child murderer Freddy Krueger, who is out to possess him in order to continue his reign of terror in the real world.

Director: Jack Sholder | Stars: Robert Englund, Mark Patton, Kim Myers, Robert Rusler

Votes: 77,378 | Gross: $30.00M

+Number 7 is a movie sequel that gets referred to as "homoerotic" and "gay" in part due to the male lead instead of the traditional horror movie female lead. Just because the male protagonist is gay doesn't mean you have to bash this movie. There are elements I love in this movie and counted in my review and I will counted them in here: Even tough it is a bad sequel it still follows the roots from first movie with a different story, different idea, different cast and that is good. I like the film because it follows the roots from the first film, It is mentioning Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp) yes I am a Nancy Thompson fan! I love her very much and this film has respect to Nancy Thompson! While showing the diary and the telling the story's about her. Walsh family moved in to Thompson's house. That's what I like a bit this film. Freddy was still serious - not as much joking around and you feel for the main character - plus his girlfriend was smoking hot - didn't know he was bisexual. I like the film it grew on me, I don't care if people don't like it I love it. It is my fourth favorite film.

7/10 C-

8. A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989)

R | 89 min | Fantasy, Horror

54 Metascore

The pregnant Alice finds Freddy Krueger striking through the sleeping mind of her unborn child, hoping to be reborn into the real world.

Director: Stephen Hopkins | Stars: Robert Englund, Lisa Wilcox, Kelly Jo Minter, Danny Hassel

Votes: 50,631 | Gross: $22.17M

Number 8 A Nightmare on Elm Street 5 The Dream Child (1989) Least favorite in the series it had only 3 body counts in the film. Lisa Wilcox is my second favorite heroine. Alice Johnson from A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master did return. Throughout the course of the films, her hair color changes, with it being a reddish-brown in The Dream Master, and outright blonde in The Dream Child. Alice and her son Jacob appears and dies in comic series Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash: The Nightmare Warriors, however, it was on a different storyline to the original Nightmare series, so is considered that she is not dead. I like this film, I like this film a lot. Been a huge Freddy Krueger fan I will try to watch Fredy's Nightmare Tv series.

3/10 -D

9. A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)

R | 95 min | Crime, Drama, Horror

35 Metascore

The spectre of a disfigured man haunts the children of the parents who murdered him, stalking and killing them in their dreams.

Director: Samuel Bayer | Stars: Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy

Votes: 107,428 | Gross: $63.08M

Number 9 film I got this movie on Blu-ray disc I re watch it last night again the second time around I like the film around. It is an par with Part 2: Freddy's Revenge that everyone hates the film. I love love Katie Cassidy in this film I really love her so much. I love the Springwood Dinner scene in the opening sequence. This movie felt more like a dark horror slasher film. I understand this film now. I am huge fan of Freddy Krueger. I know Robert Englund isn't in this movie but Jackie Earle Haley is good I enjoy his performance. Rooney Mara is a babe. I don't hate the film anymore I like it I know people hate this film I did, but as a fan I like it now. I enjoy it more than Part 5 and Freddy's Dead. Underrated and misunderstood.
