Ricky Whittle Provides a Peek Into "American Gods"3 of 10
The process sounds harrowing. Why did you feel so strongly about the role?
If you know Neil Gaiman, you know he's a rock star in this world. And when you add the talents of Michael and Bryan, you knew that something great was about to be made. As an actor, you just want to work with good people on good projects with great writing. And in the audition scenes, I was getting a piece of the scripts, and just the way that they were written was so intelligent and creative. I saw that writing and thought, I need to be a part of this.
