The Last of Us: Fan Casting

by MrZombie13 | created - 15 Jul 2014 | updated - 27 May 2015 | Public

If they decide to make a film about this phenomenal game, here are my realistic choice of actors to star in the project. I also wonder if it would be best to split it in two films, rather than one. The first film about the cannibals and the second about the fireflies; which will cause more character development, then all of it jumbled into one film. Of course scenes from the game will have to be moved around, if they decided to make more than one film. ...... Many things have changed in the many months I made this list, so my mind has also changed in who I predict to be cast. The facts we do know about the film:

  • Screen Gems and Ghost House Pictures are going to be the distributor and production company. - This is not a good sign, as both companies don't make many great films.
  • Sam Raimi is producing; possibly directing. As long as he isn't directing it should be fine. Don't get me wrong Sam is a great director, but he isn't right for this film.

From Fassbender down are my previous choices. I doubt Any one of these people with be chosen but its nice to make predictions and hoping one will be cast. Back to my new predictions. Enjoy!

1. Hugh Jackman

Actor | Les Misérables

Jackman has won international recognition for his roles in major films, notably as superhero, period, and romance characters. He is best known for his long-running role as Wolverine in the X-Men film ...

Joel- Hugh Jackman would be a wired choice for Joel but his acting in 'Prisoners' might sway me if he was chosen to play the role. Plus, along with me, everyone love Hugh Jackman. I hope his busy schedule won't interfere with him being possibly cast.

2. Jon Hamm

Actor | Mad Men

Jon Hamm is an American actor and producer from St. Louis, Missouri who is known for playing Don Draper in Mad Men. He also played Mister Sinister in a deleted scene of The New Mutants and Legion, Brogan from Shrek Forever After, and other films and shows including Sucker Punch, Million Dollar Arm,...

Joel- Jon Hamm is done with Mad Men and his recent stint in rehab just ended. Jon and his cold demeanour on Mad Men and his addiction to alcoholism, he knows that suffering within himself, much like Joel. He wouldn't be a hugh fan fav for the role but I think he would do a great job.

3. Kaitlyn Dever

Actress | Booksmart

Having been named one of Variety's 10 Actors to Watch, Kaitlyn Dever has become one of Hollywood's top emerging young actresses.

Dever has showcased her versatility, appearing in movies such as Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar (2011), James Ponsoldt's The Spectacular Now (2013), Destin Daniel Cretton's ...

Ellie- Ellie is extremely hard to decide who to play her and I "secretly" hope they cast an unknown actress. So if I had to choose who to pick, my first choice would Kaitlyn Dever. Her roles in "Justified' and 'Short Term 12' show that she can really act and can bring the stoic but witty Ellie to the big screen.

5. Raffey Cassidy

Actress | White Noise

Raffey began acting aged 7 with roles in the BBC series 32 Brinkburn Street (2011) and ITV's Mr Selfridge (2013) starring Jeremy Piven. Actress | Terminator: Dark Fate

Mackenzie Davis was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She is an actress and producer, known for Terminator: Dark Fate (2019), Black Mirror (2011) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017).
