Director: Gus Van Sant | Stars: Robin Williams, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Stellan Skarsgård
Votes: 1,067,313 | Gross: $138.43M
A film that will always hold a special place in my heart due to my troubled but gifted young man with a chip on his shoulder complex. With robin williams touching outlook on the fudmanetals of existence, the pop psychology referenced throughout makes me feel clever but my main attraction to this movie even ignoring that emotional attachment to the progression of will is probably the dialouge as the back and forths are insightful and mirror some of my continous arguments with myself.
Cause *beep* him, that's why.
2. Trainspotting (1996)

Renton, deeply immersed in the Edinburgh drug scene, tries to clean up and get out despite the allure of drugs and the influence of friends.
Director: Danny Boyle | Stars: Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller, Kevin McKidd
Votes: 725,421 | Gross: $16.50M
A film that beautifully touches on the not so subtle poetry of working class britain with an ironic smile in playing on the libertines, jamie t, king krule part of my artistic preferences. All the while maintaining fearless honesty and managing to be visually stunning. The chose life monologue hits extremely hard especially watching the sequel on my 20th birthday in dulbin. Life is not to be wasted but humans are flawed.
I chose not to choose life.
3. About Time (I) (2013)

Votes: 385,651 | Gross: $15.32M
This films tenderly reminds me of what Ive really always wanted, the perfect quiet life. The bazz luhrmann references, setting in cornwall and soundtrack are all things i can relate to. Though I consider the life of the main character something I was never destined for i often feel this movie was made for me. Much like many on this list, all the while i remember it is only possible with time travel.
. I remember the first time i watched this movie i had no i idea it was in the dvd player, it had been left there. I was having a bad day but the san began to shine and i just sat and watched it.
There's a song by Baz Luhrmann called Sunscreen. He says worrying about the future is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum. The real troubles in your life will always be things that never crossed your worried mind.

Director: David O. Russell | Stars: Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver
Votes: 742,555 | Gross: $132.09M
A movie that affirmed my beleif that Bradley Cooper is actually a very good actor and when she stretches her muscles Jennifer Lawrence is a force to be reckoned with. De Niro is fantasic and the small town problems world make it easy to get invested in. Coopers insane back and forth with himself being finally appeased in the final scenes can almost make you believe silver linings do exists. Excelsior.
You say more inappropriate things than appropriate things.
6. The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012)

Director: Stephen Chbosky | Stars: Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ezra Miller, Paul Rudd
Votes: 547,791 | Gross: $17.74M
A film i tried to avoid due to the hype surrounding it but despite its reputation it over delivered for me. I didnt find it at all cheesy, logan lerman is very good, the soundtrack is sensational, its teeny but touches on some sensitive subjects and i like the way and order in which it is told. There are some scenes that hit close to home eg: the blackout in the cafeteria and the tone in charlies sisters voice when she gets the phone call.
This one moment when you know you're not a sad story. You are alive, and you stand up and see the lights on the buildings and everything that makes you wonder. And you're listening to that song and that drive with the people you love most in this world. And in this moment I swear, we are infinite.

Meet me in montuak.
