Jabba’s Palace Song
Early on in Return of the Jedi, there’s a minute-long song-and-dance sequence in Jabba’s palace featuring Muppet-style musicians in what was probably intended to be a throwback to the cantina scene in the original Star Wars (though it never became nearly as iconic). In the special edition, though, Lucas threw out the original song and replaced it with a much more obnoxious new track. More egregiously, he replaced the lead singer with a CGI version, and added in another CGI performer. The new song is aggravating, the CGI sticks out like a sore thumb, and the new choreography doesn’t cut together properly with the other elements of the scene.
