"Rocky" has the most sequels of any Best Picture winner at seven: "Rocky II", "Rocky III", "Rocky IV", "Rocky V", "Rocky Balboa", "Creed" and "Creed II".

"The Lord of the Ring: The Return of the King" has the most prequels of any Best Picture winner at three: "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey", "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" and "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies".

Sylvester Stallone and Talia Shire have each appeared in six Best Picture winner sequels, more than anyone else.
