Golden Globes: This Year's Most Unforgettable Moments10 of 10
One of the night's most beautiful moments was created by Michael Keaton, winner for Best Actor in Motion Picture, Musical/Comedy for his work in "Birdman."
On an evening of self-congratulation and artifice, Keaton stood before his peers and delivered an acceptance speech in which he introduced himself as Michael John Douglas, the seventh of seven children, saying that when his mother wasn't busy praying the rosary, she volunteered at the hospital where he would eventually be born... in a hallway. Through tears, he tells the world that his son is his best friend.
Douglas said he promised himself he wouldn't cry, but his demonstration of vulnerability is part of the reason he won the Globe in the first place. But if he really doesn't want to cry during his acceptance speeches, perhaps getting it out at the Globes is just what he needs.
Next stop: Oscars? We hope so.
