És com si tota la pel·lícula fos un museu: cada fotograma és un quadre de paisatge o d’interior barroc, formalment perfecte. Típic de Kubrick: agafa una història qualsevol –no dolent, però tampoc excel·lent- i la converteix en una obra d’art a través de la imatge. La llum de les espelmes totalment aconseguida amb l’objectiu de la NASA, els plans obertíssims de paisatges amb els personatges petits, la direcció artística... La música també genial, tot perfecte. L’únic però: encara que normalment defenso els films de llarga extensió (vegi’s Quattrocento, Napoleon, etc), en aquest cas potser menys metratge hagués resultat igual de satisfactori o més.

Moments molt graciosos com la separació d’aigües a la sopa de tomàquet, el gos aixecant la pota al vàter o el genial moment “I got the power!”, sempre combinats amb gags més vulgars com el mico sortint del cul d’un home que no m’agraden tant, i enginys com l’apropar la lluna amb una corda etc. Morgan Freeman com a Déu és genial, sembla que hagi nascut ja amb el vestit blanc.

És segurament la meva pel·lícula preferida de tots els temps, i el problema és que no sabria dir perquè. Hi ha el factor Kubrick que com sempre és genial, ja no només objectivament sinó per una identificació total amb ell, la seva forma de pensar i de ser, o almenys amb la que ens expliquen sempre, controladora i megalòmana. Però perquè aquest film és el millor que he vist mai, més que La Taronja Mecànica, Full Metal Jacket, Eyes Wide Shut, etc.? No ho sé. Però m’encanta. És tan ambiciós! Abarca tota la humanitat, l’univers, la vida, tot, és el film total. I és preciós estèticament, què més es vol? Diria que va ser veure aquesta pel·lícula el que em va començar a fer pensar en que m’agradaria dirigir o almenys fer cinema.
