January Picks: The Movies and TV You Can't Miss14 of 23
One Night in Miami | Premieres Friday, Jan. 15 on Prime Video
Plot: The fictional account of one incredible night where icons Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown gathered to discuss their roles in the civil rights movement and cultural upheaval of the '60s.
Our Take: Single-location stage play adaptation can be a tough sell to audiences, but the premise of One Night in Miami is almost too good to be true, and from all reports this is a must-see awards contender. I'm as excited for Regina King's directorial debut as I am seeing these historical heavyweights mixing it up onscreen. — James
