Drunktown's Finest | Available to Rent or Buy on Prime Video
Once coined in the national news as "Drunktown, USA," the small city of Gallup, New Mexico rests right on the edge of the Navajo Nation's border. In Sydney Freeland's debut film, she looks at the unique place that the city and some of its denizens occupy: a space between the sacred and profane. The film weaves together the story of three young Navajos - a girl adopted into a White Christian family, a young father-to-be, and a trans woman who dreams of being a model - all striving to escape the hardships of life in the area and leading to a breath-taking finale.
