March Picks: The Movies and TV You Can't Miss18 of 22
"The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers" | Series Premieres on Disney Plus on Friday, March 26
Plot: After failing to make the cut to join the now powerhouse Mighty Ducks junior hockey team, 12-year-old Evan's mother encourages him to form a new team of underdogs with help from Gordon Bombay, the Ducks' original coach.
Our Take: After a string of three successful 90s movies that won over hockey fans everywhere (plus anyone who hails from Minnesota), I didn't expect much from a modern-day reboot series beyond some recycled version of the concept, with a new cast of youngsters. However, the fact that Emilio Estevez is returning as Gordon Bombay makes this a play for even the original fans’ attention. A lot has changed since the 90s, and it’s gonna take one determined Midwest mom (Lauren Graham) to get Bombay back in gear to teach a group of kids about the love of the game. — Hannah
