September Picks: The Movies and TV You Can't Miss20 of 25
The Munsters | Premieres on Netflix on Tuesday, Sept. 27
Plot: Herman and Lily’s crazy courtship takes the Munsters on a hauntingly hilarious trip from Transylvania to Hollywood in this prequel to the hit sitcom.
Our Take: Heads turned when it was announced that Rob Zombie — the man behind gritty horror films like House of a Thousand Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, and Halloween (2007) — would be turning the 1960s camp classic "The Munsters" into a feature film. And yet, early signs suggest the indie movie may be a hit with horror lovers. Jeff Daniel Phillips and Sheri Moon Zombie play Herman and Lily, with Daniel Roebuck stepping into the role of The Count. But those are far from the only familiar faces here. Be on the lookout for genre stars Jorge Garcia, Dee Wallace, and the Mistress of the Dark, Cassandra Peterson. — Adrienne
