Detailed Guide to ‘A Christmas Prince’ Film Series ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Films and TV shows do not always have to be profound, with a deeper meaning behind them. They don’t always have to have a conventional format, and they definitely do not always have to be life-changing experiences. And while many films out there aim for substance and depth, sometimes they can get a bit daunting and stressful. Which is why cheesy, guilty pleasure films exist. These are movies that just go for the cheese and clichés, no grand conclusions, no complexities whatsoever. They’re often so bad that it makes them good.
One such film series is the “A Christmas Prince” trilogy. It’s a Christmas romance that was first released in 2017, but apparently, one movie wasn’t enough, so they decided to turn it into a trilogy.
The second film was released on November 30, 2018, and was called...

Premiering on October 25, 1997, Under Wraps was the inaugural Disney Channel Original Movie. The cornerstone of the network’s programming proved to be as close to appointment viewing as it got for ‘90s kids, along with the likes of ABC’s Tgif and Nickelodeon’s Snick. Moreover, Under Wraps served as a gateway to horror for many millennials. Before the age of streaming, catching a mummy movie on the same channel where you watched Disney cartoons and Boy Meets World reruns could have been your first exposure to the macabre.
Disney attempted to recapture the magic with last year’s Under Wraps remake. The original movie was successful — and continues to hold up 25 years later — for several reasons; relatable kid leads, a great Halloween atmosphere, and a sense of humor chief among them. Director/co-writer Alex Zamm and co-writer William Robertson (Inspector Gadget 2) smartly maintained those elements for the new iteration.

Disney Channel’s original 1997 version of Under Wraps had many of the elements family comedies need: three cute and precocious leads, a fun-loving mummy and plenty of funny moments. There was just one thing missing — diversity.
All of the movie’s leading characters were white. But the revamped Under Wraps, which premieres tonight at 8/7c on the Disney Channel, shakes all of that up with an inclusive cast that incorporates more people of color. Two roles that were initially played by men are now filled by women, and one lead has same-sex parents.

Although Karin Konoval has co-starred in family fare such as Netflix’s The Baby-Sitter’s Club and a live-action take on Woody Woodpecker, she’s a more recognizable actress among adults than kids.

Mummies may be par for the course on Halloween, but when the Disney Channel gets involved, the undead creatures take on a life of their own. Just on time for the holiday comes “Under Wraps,” a movie about a 4000-year-old mummy named Harold (Phil Wright) who is brought back to life by three friends.
Since Harold speaks only through a series of grunts, Wright’s expertise as a dancer and choreographer were key as he uses physicality to help define the character. Writer and director Alex Zamm provided Wright with a personal reference when describing how he envisioned the role, recounting when his son was “a constipated toddler who would walk in this way, lumbering forward, teetering always off balance.”
Beyond Zamm’s son, physical comedians like Harpo Marx and Lucille Ball became touchstones of Harold’s development.

The Disney Channel is remaking its first original movie—the comedic classic 1997 Halloween movie, Under Wraps.
The film stars Christian J. Simon (Gilbert), Sophia Hammons (Amy), and Malachi Barton (Marshall), as three 12-year-old friends who accidentally awaken a mummy. They affectionately name him Harold and must rush to return him to his resting place before midnight on Halloween.
The trio narrowly escapes a group of criminals intent on selling the mummy to the highest bidder. When Harold is inevitably captured, Marshall, Gilbert, and Amy must band together to stand up to the criminals, face their fears, and rescue their new—but “ancient”—friend.
Also starring in the film is Phil Wright as Harold, the mummy. Alex Zamm directed and wrote Under Wraps.
The film was just as fun as the original but added many modern and hilarious twists. It will be a new Halloween favorite.
TV Fanatic interviewed Christian J.

Sneak Peek more new footage from Universal's CGI animated "Woody Woodpecker", directed by Alex Zamm, available on DVD February 6, 2018:
"...'Woody Woodpecker' loves his home in the forest in the mountains. His tree is just the right size and perfect for his needs. Then a lawyer from the city arrives with his girlfriend and son and tries to tear it down to build a 'dream' home for humans.
"Woody being Woody decides to use his unique method of handling irritations to stop the development plans: He terrorizes the humans entirely. He goes after the construction crew, attempts to electrocute and peck the father and causes mayhem everywhere.
"After Woody finds himself relating to the son, can he and the humans come to a compromise that works for everyone?...":

Hollywood has raided my childhood once again! A live-action version of popular 1940s cartoon series Woody Woodpecker is heading to the big screen next year and the first teaser has been released in Brazil, where it is titled Pica-Pau. Created by Walter Lantz and produced as a series of theatrical short films by his studio in the 1940s, the character made its way to television in 1957 and eventually lodged its way into my brain through the TV rerun circuit in the late 1960s. Frankly, all I remember from the show is Woody's insistent laughter, which is reproduced faithfully in the short teaser. A quick look at IMDb reveals a lesser-known cast directed by Alex Zamm, whose extensive credits include a number of sequels, such...

A new international trailer lands for the Woody Woodpecker movie...
Update: It's been a while, but Woody Woodpecker completists, fear no more. A new international trailer for the upcoming movie has been released. And you can view it right here...

Thanks to Universal's Brazillian wing (Wing! get it? Like a bird's wing!) here is the first trailer for the live-action Woody Woodpecker movie. In the sense, that is, that the movie is live-action, because the Woodpecker most definitely is not.
The film's director is Alex Zamm, previously culpable for Jingle All the Way 2, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, Inspector Gadget 2... You know what? That's a lot of number twos.
Zamm did direct some episodes of the Upright Citizen's Brigade TV show and he does have Timothy Omundensen here - the bearded man getting gunged, previously popular in Psych and Gallivant.

Production has now wrapped in Vancouver on writer/director Alex Zamm's CG-live-action film "Woody Woodpecker", based on the famous Walter Lantz cartoon character, starring Timothy Omundson, Thaila Ayala, Graham Verchere and Toby Walters:
'Woody Woodpecker' was created in 1940 by storyboard artist Ben "Bugs" Hardaway, who laid the groundwork for 'Bugs Bunny' and 'Daffy Duck' @ Warner Bros. in the late 1930's.

Woody's character and design would evolve over the years, from an insane bird with an unusually garish design to a more refined look.
Woody was originally voiced by actor Mel Blanc, who was succeeded by Ben Hardaway and later by Grace Stafford, the wife of producer Walter Lantz.

Despite being critically panned, an under-performer at the box office and the second-worst film of Arnold Schwarzenegger's '90s career (after Batman & Robin), Jingle All the Way has miraculously spawned a sequel.
There's no place for Arnie in the belated follow-up, however, as Larry the Cable Guy takes on the role of a laid-back dad struggling to get his daughter the sought-after Harrison Bear for Christmas.
A co-production between 20th Century Fox and WWE Studios, the comedy features wrestler Santino Marella in a prominent role with Brian Stepanek, Kristen Robek and Kennedi Clements in the cast.

A co-production between 20th Century Fox and WWE Studios, the comedy features wrestler Santino Marella in a prominent role with Brian Stepanek, Kristen Robek and Kennedi Clements in the cast.
Director Alex Zamm, whose previous credits include Tooth Fairy 2, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 and Inspector Gadget 2, is pulling a double shift as the voice of the bear.
Jingle All the Way 2 will be heading straight to DVD and Blu-ray on December 2.

WWE Studios and Twentieth Century Fox are partnering on a pair of sequels - a sequel to the 1996 Schwarzenegger holiday comedy "Jingle All The Way" and a fourth film in the Dtv "The Marine" franchise.
Larry the Cable Guy and WWE’s Santino Marella will topline the 'Jingle' sequel which Alex Zamm will direct. Filming begins in March with a direct to disc and VOD release planned for the holiday.
Larry and Zamm previously worked together on another direct-to-disc & VOD comedy sequel based on a theatrical release with a major action star - "Tooth Fairy 2".
Meanwhile, WWE's Mike 'The Miz' Mizanin and Diva Summer Rae will star in "The Marine 4". Mizanin returns to the franchise following his effort starring in the third film last year.
Like the various sequels in the series, it'll go direct to disc and streaming later in the year.

A sequel to the greatest Christmas film of all time is finally being made, without its original star.
It's Turbo Time again. But not the Turbo Time you remember. That Turbo Time is gone forever, like a a fart from Ted the Reindeer in the winter wind. Admit it: Jingle All the Way is a guilty pleasure that is best consumed in secret every holiday, like cheap boxed wine. Even now, the classic lines from that film are running through your head with a bad Austrian accent tied to it.
If you felt a great disturbance in the Force today, it was because millions of Jingle All the Way fans screamed out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. It came as news broke that Twentieth Century Fox and WWE Studios (yeah, there's a movie studio for a fake sport) were teaming up on a Jingle All the Way sequel. It...

Continuing his reign as the champion of the lowest common denominator, human catchphrase Larry the Cable Guy is set to “git r done” in a straight-to-video sequel to the 1996 film Jingle All the Way.
The original starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sinbad as two rivals fighting to get their kid the last of a much-sought-after Christmas toy, probably only to learn the real meaning of the holiday by the end of the film. I haven’t actually seen it; that’s just a hunch. No plot details have been given about the new film, but it is set to co-star WWE’s Santino Marella, who might be someone you know if you’re into watching two oiled-up guys rassle around while pretending to hate each other’s guts.
What are the odds that the sequel will rehash the plot of the first film, once again following two fathers who need to...

There's no Arnold Schwarzenegger, but a sequel is coming to 1996's Jingle All The Way...
Crikey. You win a biscuit if you saw this one coming. 20th Century Fox and WWE Studios are teaming up to make a very belated sequel to the Arnold Schwarzenegger comedy, Jingle All The Way.
The movie is set to be directed by Alex Zamm, who helmed the straight to DVD sequel Tooth Fairy 2. Jingle All The Way 2 will not be seeing the inside of a cinema either, nor will Arnold Schwarzenegger be in it. Instead, Larry The Cable Guy will be taking the lead this time around.
Fox and WWE Studios are also planning a further sequel to The Marine. The Marine 4 will star Mike 'The Miz' Mizanin.
More on both of these films at your local DVD emporium towards the end of the year...

Years ago, Warner Bros. Pictures attempted a live-action/CG-animated combination adaptation of the Looney Tunes cartoon "Marvin the Martian."
Not long after that, Alcon Entertainment attempted the same, but with the classic Hanna-Barbera 1970's animated series "Hong Kong Phooey." Eddie Murphy was slated to voice the character.
Both projects have fallen through, and now director Alex Zamm has posted animation test footage for both of the projects. You can check it out below:

There was a time when Warner Bros. and Alcon Entertainment were looking to develop CG animated feature films based on Looney Tunes' Marvin the Martian, and the 1970's Hanna-Barbera series Hong Kong Phooey. Eddie Murphy was attached to Phooey about a year ago as the voice of the lead character. Both these films are thankfully dead now, because they look like they would have been awful. Director Alex Zamm has released some CG animation and live-action test footage for these films to show you the direction they were headed, and why they didn't end up getting made. Check out the test footage, and let us know what you think! ...

The short story goes... in August 2011, Eddie Murphy teamed up with director Alex Zamm (Tooth Fairy 2, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2) to make a live-action version of the classic cartoon Hong Kong Phooey. We must have missed the announcement of the project, because, I checked the S&A archives and didn't find any posts on it. Over a year later, the movie obviously hasn't happened; will it? I dunno. I don't think I particularly care either, especially if the video below is anything to go by. All that's left of the project is some test footage that was shot for it, and that has surfaced. Apparently Zamm released the footage online, via his Vimeo...

Over a year ago, Alcon Entertainment announced that Eddie Murphy would be lending his voice to the titular character in the live-action/CG hybrid adaptation of Hanna-Barbera's 1970's animated series Hong Kong Phooey. And three years earlier, Warner Bros. decided to utilize their rights to the Looney Tunes library, capitalize on the trend of families buying into the live-action/CG hybrid adaptations of cartoons like Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Smurfs, and bring Marvin the Martian to the big screen. However, now it seems like both those projects are dead as director Alex Zamm has posted animation test footage for both of these films, and that likely wouldn't happen if both the projects were still happening. See here! Cartoon Brew (via Bleeding Cool) noticed that Alex Zamm posted this video with both animation tests: We're not entirely sure if this means these projects are already dead (maybe Speedy Gonzales...

A moment of silence, please, for Alex Zamm’s Marvin the Martian and Hong Kong Phooey movies. The Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 director was attached to helm CGI-live action hybrid adaptations of both properties; Mike Myers was rumored to star in the former, while Eddie Murphy was attached to star in the latter.
Now, though, it’s looking increasingly like neither one will ever be completed. Marvin was originally supposed to hit theaters in December of 2011. Hong Kong, meanwhile, hasn’t seemed to make much progress since Murphy’s deal was announced 16 months ago.

"Director Alex Zamm was once set to make a live-action/CG hybrid Marvin the Martian movie, and in the past year was announced as the director for a similar hybrid revival of Hong Kong Phooey. Marvin didn’t work out, and we don’t know exactly what the status of Hong Kong Phooey is, but Zamm has posted test footage for both movies." And, no, that's not Eddie Murphy (although, technically, it was supposed to be).

Back in August of 2011, Eddie Murphy was signed to voice the lead character in a film adaptation of "Hong Kong Phooey," the popular '70s cartoon about a kung fu-fighting dog. From director Alex Zamm, the live-action and animation hybrid would tell the story of Penry (Murphy) a mild-mannered canine given special powers, a sidekick named Spot the cat and the will to fight crime.
Sixteen months later, with the status of "Hong Kong Phooey" still a mystery -- some blogs have already written off its development -- Zamm has released test footage from the project to give fans an opportunity to see what it could have looked like.
The clip shows Penry displaying a variety of kung fu moves and one-liners. (Yes, he drinks out of the toilet.) Penry's voice is suspiciously Murphy-like, though it's unclear whether Murphy himself collaborated on the test reel or if a Murphy impersonator was used.

Variety was reporting that Warner Bros. was developing a live action/CG feature film starring Marvin the Martian back in 2008.
Marvin was created by Chuck Jones and made his debut in a 1948 Looney Tunes cartoon Haredevil Hare along with his Martian dog, K-9 although he is unnamed in this film. The character earlier known as Commander X-2 was often set to blow up planet Earth, only to be foiled by Bugs Bunny.
Producer Steve Crystal developed the pitch as a Christmas story, with Marvin coming to Earth to destroy Christmas but being prevented from doing so when he’s trapped in a gift box.
This time Alex Zamm (Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2) who has posted test footage from in-development Hong Kong Phooey live action movie also has posted footage from a more-promising, but shelved, Marvin the Martian hybrid movie on his Vimeo page.

Last year, Warner Bros announced that it is developing a live-action "Hong Kong Phooey" film, to be directed by Alex Zamm ((Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, Tooth Fairy 2) and voiced by Eddie Murphy. It's not clear what the status of the project is, but Zamm has now unveiled test footage from the movie. Check it out below, in addition to footage from the live-action "Marvin the Martian" movie, which Zamm has been also attached to. "Hong Kong Phooey" revolves around a mild-mannered dog, named Penry, who, after stumbling into a mystic ceremony, is accidentally granted mystic powers, including the ability to walk, talk, and do kung fu. Under the tutelage of his kung fu master and with the help of his sidekick, Spot the cat, Penry dons a costume and becomes a crime fighter. Director Alex Zamm has produced some of the most asinine movies you ever saw on a DVD shelf. It's a pretty rare thing for CGI/live-action hybrid films to come out halfway descent, particularly when they feature pop culture icons. Sure, movies like Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Ted are great, but it's far more common for them to end up like The Smurfs, Yogi Bear, Scooby Doo, Garfield, G-Force, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked...the list goes on and on. So what would have happened if they used CGI/live-action to make feature films for Hong Kong Phooey and Marvin the Martian? Today we somehow have a taste of what that could have been like. Cartoon Brew has discovered test footage from in-development projects based on the aforementioned characters that was posted by director Alex Zamm.
