Harvey dated a few women before marrying Donna, but his primary focus on Suits was his corporate battles with Mike. Suits delved into character dynamics by exploring personal lives, showing Harvey's struggle with emotional closeness. The show introduced romantic interests like Zoe, Esther, and Paula to showcase different facets of Harvey's character.
Before marrying Donna, Harvey had several girlfriends in Suits, and one was even supposed to be the person he would originally end up with. Suits' primary appeal was its office drama, so Harvey and Mike's relationship was the series' focal point in its early years. In an attempt to diversify its storytelling and develop character dynamics, Suits explored the personal lives of characters. This offered those who weren't fans of the corporate law aspect of the USA Network project something else to be invested in.
Part of ensuring that its characters are fully fleshed out was taking a peek at their personal lives.

Ordinary Angels, starring Hilary Swank, tells the true story of redemption, sacrifice, and hope in Kentucky. The film is based on a real event but takes liberties for dramatic effect, touching on faith and human empathy. Although not overtly religious, Ordinary Angels showcases the power of kindness and redemption in difficult times.
Inspired by an incredibly true story, Ordinary Angels was released on February 23, 2024. The uplifting biographical drama stars two-time Oscar-winner Hilary Swank as Sharon Stevens, a troubled hairdresser in Kentucky who leads a gallant effort to save a little girl's life during a severe snowstorm. Apart from finding personal redemption, Stevens forms a tender bond with the girl's widowed father, giving both characters the strength to persevere.

For anyone worried that Ordinary Angels looks too narrowly faith-based, fret not. But for those looking for a story that reminds us of the power of faith, you're also in for a treat here. The new drama from director Jon Gunn (The Case for Christ) offers a lovely balance and walks a fine line.
It's only rated PG, but that shouldn't deter hardcore film buffs who might be in the mood for a tearjerker of a story. There's currently a billboard on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles that reads something to the effect of, "Binge One Day Alone So You Can Ugly Cry in Peace." The hit Netflix series will certainly bring tears to your eyes, and it has that in common with the heart-wrenching Ordinary Angels. Starring Academy Award-winner Hilary Swank and Reacher star Alan Ritchson, Ordinary Angels is impactful, well-acted, and avoids cheesiness for the most part.

As the news gets darker and more depressing, a triumphant “against the odds” inspired by true events underdog story may be just the cure for the late Winter doldrums. And that’s exactly what this week’s new movie promises…and pretty much delivers. It’s an ode to the “help your neighbor” spirit of small-town America (not that it’s completely absent in the bustling cities). Plus there’s a bit of spirituality (right in the title) along with some folks overcoming their own personal struggles. And as a bonus, this marks a most welcome return of an actress to the big screen, in a wide release, after earning a second Oscar almost twenty years ago. In a new “real-life” role this extraordinary actress becomes the leader of a group of Ordinary Angels.

Alan Ritchson plays Ed in Ordinary Angels, and his journey as a father will tug at your heartstrings & inspire. Ritchson's emotional portrayal will bring tears to your eyes and showcases his diverse acting skills. The Reacher star says that working with Hilary Swank in this true story was a privilege and a rewarding experience.
Alan Ritchson fans perhaps know him best as the titular hero in Reacher, which is returning for a third season on Prime Video. But in the meantime, he's starring in an all-new project with a softer edge, but it still packs an emotional gut-punch. Plot: Based on a remarkable true story, centers on Sharon, a fierce but struggling hairdresser in small-town Kentucky who discovers a renewed sense of purpose when she meets Ed, a widower working hard to make ends meet for his two daughters. With his youngest daughter waiting for a liver transplant, Sharon sets her mind to helping the family and will move mountains to do it. What unfolds is the inspiring tale of faith, everyday miracles, and ordinary angels.
Review: When I first saw the trailer for Ordinary Angels, I wrote it off without a second thought as another faith-based drama designed to tug at the heartstrings and reinforce the unlimited power of God. In recent years, there has been a surge in movies like this; few have risen above the minimal viable bar for them to be considered watchable by mainstream audiences. With a true story centered on everyday people pulling off extraordinary feats, “Ordinary Angels” can’t help but embrace the sentimentality at its core. It’s baked into its DNA, and is the reason why this compelling, heartstring-pulling drama made it to the big screen 30 years after taking place — in a time when we too are searching for light in a bleak world. Yet what lifts the picture beyond average inspirational fluff is the way director Jon Gunn and company control the slow release of its sweetness so as not to overpower. This technique, though forgivably manipulative, works to grand effect and, by the end, even cynics will be won over by the human kindness on display.

‘Ordinary Angels’ Review: Hilary Swank’s Passionate Performance Drives True Faith Based Family Drama
Lionsgate’s collaboration with faith based movie producers Kingdom Story Company has reaped boxoffice rewards for both, and with their latest, Ordinary Angels, the inspiring true story of a small Kentucky town that comes together in a historic snowstorm in order to transport a 3-year-old girl to an Omaha hospital for a life-saving liver transplant, they have another surefire heartfelt film tailor-made for audiences looking for a little uplift. This actually would have made a perfect Christmas season release but has been delayed for several months, now opening in the same February corridor where Kingdom’s surprise hit, Jesus Revolution did well last year. Midwest crowds will especially respond to a never-say-never tale that is about bringing people together, not tearing them apart in this age of division.

Ritchson cherishes action but seeks diverse roles to evolve as an artist, Ordinary Angels being a challenging and rewarding project. The film, directed by Jon Gunn, follows the inspiring true story of a woman who helps a struggling widower and his daughters. Joining Ritchson and Swank, the cast of Ordinary Angels includes acclaimed actors such as Nancy Travis and Amy Acker.
Alan Ritchson may be known for his action roles, but the Reacher star has high aspirations for his career and wants to show what he is capable of with different characters and a variety of genres.
The actor made his debut on the small screen in 2005 in Smallville, playing Arthur Curry/Aquaman, showing from that moment that he had the aptitude to develop in the world of action, or simply for roles where physical appearance was one of the most important characteristics. Matthew Vaughn, director of Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class, would love to bring back Henry Cavill for a live-action adaptation of Superman: Red Son. "Anyone but You" is a rom-com that adapts Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing," focusing on the witty and antagonistic relationship between Ben and Bea. The film follows the same general course as the play, with Ben and Bea starting as enemies and eventually confessing their love for each other. While "Anyone but You" emphasizes trickery and secrets like the original play, it does not delve into the second main plot between characters Claudia and Hero.
In their new romantic comedy, Anyone but You, actors Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell are actually adapting one of Shakespeare's most popular comedies, "Much Ado About Nothing." Anyone but You is a rom-com that follows Bea and Ben, two people that form a somewhat meaningful connection that is quickly and accidentally broken. Later, Bea and Ben reunite when their mutual friends are getting married, and to meet their own ends, they decide to pretend that they are in a relationship.

Harvey's relationships on Suits were often doomed from the start, including his ill-fated relationship with his former therapist and his messy affair with his colleague's sister. While Harvey had a complicated relationship with his long-time secretary Donna, his chemistry with Zoe Lawford was unmatched and she challenged him in a way no other woman could. Zoe Lawford was his best love interest and their relationship had the potential to evolve into something more, but it was cut short, leaving fans wondering what could have been.

Exclusive: The Kingdom Studios and Lionsgate drama Ordinary Angels starring 2x Oscar winner Hilary Swank is departing from its Oct. 13 theatrical release date as AMC’s Taylor Swift: The New Eras Tour looks to open to at least $70M off a female-heavy audience.
Universal’s The Exorcist: The Believer seeing the crazy amount of presales at $37M+ yesterday opted to go a week earlier on Oct. 6, which is much richer release date where Joker, and Venom have launched.
No bother for Ordinary Angels which is Tbd in regards to its release date. "I have to make it! This is our last chance. If we don't take it, Michelle dies!" Lionsgate has debuted a new trailer for Ordinary Angels, a religious drama based on a real medical emergency and struggling family. Arriving in theaters nationwide starting this October, sticking with this date despite the ongoing strikes in Hollywood. Inspired by the true story of a hairdresser who single-handedly rallies an entire community to help a widowed father save the life of his critically ill daughter who desperately needs a liver transplant. "Faith can make the impossible possible," is the tagline. This is leaning heavy on the religious side of the story, which means they will get the attention of many faithful Americans. The movie stars Hilary Swank as Sharon Steves, with Alan Ritchson, Nancy Travis, Tamala Jones, & Amy Acker, plus Skywalker Hughes and Emily Mitchell as the kids. This is as cheesy as they come!

Freeform's scripted roster just took a hit.
The cable network has canceled Single Drunk Female and The Watchful Eye, according to Deadline.
Even worse: all episodes of both series are being removed from Hulu today, meaning that they'll only be available to purchase via iTunes and Amazon.
Single Drunk Female Season 1 was a massive hit for Freeform and Hulu, where it garnered strong viewership on streaming, but the buzz seemingly faded by the time Single Drunk Female Season 2 debuted earlier this year.
The second season launched in April and picked up with Sam a year and a half into her sobriety journey and finally feeling "like she has a life worth celebrating," the logline states.
"However, Sam quickly learns that sometimes life has other plans for her."
"Sam must figure out how to effect change where she can, sit in her discomfort when she can't, and maybe even enjoy the ride.

Series finales are fickle things. Some of them have the power to redeem an entire show, to reframe the audience’s perceptions of what came before. Those massive twists rarely land, so more often than not, TV shows end not with a bang, but with a melancholy whimper.
And then there are the other times when a big series finale swing goes so awry that it can undo many seasons’ worth of goodwill. Recency bias rears its ugly head and some lifelong fans use these last episodes as a reason to sour on a particular show.
That’s why that the best finales don’t always come from the best shows. “Battlestar Galactica,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Dexter,” and more often reached brilliance over the course of their runs, but rang less true with their final notes. Some of IndieWire’s choices below come from shows that wouldn’t...

"I'm good at plenty of things, taking 'no' for an answer ain't one of 'em." Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for Ordinary Angels, a religious drama based on a real medical emergency and struggling family. They're releasing this exclusively in theaters in October – it's uncommon nowadays to see an early preview for a movie so far from release. Inspired by the incredible true story of a hairdresser who single-handedly rallies an entire community to help a widowed father save the life of his critically ill young daughter who desperately needs a liver transplant. "Faith can make the impossible possible," is the tagline (ugh - well they definitely know their audience). The movie stars Hilary Swank as Sharon Steves, with Alan Ritchson, Nancy Travis, Tamala Jones, and Amy Acker, plus Skywalker Hughes and Emily Mitchell as the kids. This looks as schmaltzy and cliche as any movie can, with all...

The trailer for the new film Ordinary Angels showcases Hilary Swank's latest drama. The film, which was directed by Jon Gunn, is based on the true story of a Kentucky hairdresser named Sharon Stevens (Hilary Swank) who pulled the community together to help save the daughter of a neighbor (Alan Ritchson), who desperately needs a liver transplant. The cast also includes Skywalker Hughes, Nancy Travis, Tamala Jones, Emily Mitchell, Drew Powell, and Angel's Amy Acker.
Today, Lionsgate premiered the official trailer for Ordinary Angels.
In addition to revealing the details of the movie's plot, the trailer showcases Swank's performance, which seems to draw on two Oscar-winning brassy female roles of the past, namely Julia Roberts' Erin Brockovich and Sandra Bullock's Leigh Anne Tuohy in 2009's The Blind Side. Lionsgate has already released two promotional stills for the film featuring Swank and Ritchson in a snowy scene. Check...

9-1-1: Lone Star stages a Firefly reunion for lead star Gina Torres. After she'd made an impression by recurring on shows like Alias and Any Day Now, Torres landed the role of Zoe Washburne in the Joss Whedon sci-fi series Firefly. Though the show was famously short-lived, with many deriding its quick cancelation, the cast would go on to have very busy careers in television. That includes Torres, who has starred in dramas like Suits and Hannibal. She currently portrays Captain Tommy Vega in 9-1-1: Lone Star, which is a spinoff of Fox's 9-1-1.
Now, in a new image from 9-1-1: Lone Star season 4, TVLine reveals that Torres will reunite with Adam Baldwin for the May 2 episode.
Baldwin, who played Jayne Cobb on Firefly, joins the 9-1-1 spinoff as Austin Pd Detective Brian McGregor. The character becomes involved with Vega (Torres) after an emergency rescue goes haywire.

2012's The Avengers featured many Marvel Easter eggs and references that would be explained in future MCU projects. Marvel Studios ended Phase 1 with the epic crossover event, The Avengers, which brought the six original MCU superheroes together to battle Loki and his Chitauri army in the Battle of New York. Directed by Joss Whedon, The Avengers was the product of five previous films over the last four years, and helped to set the tone for Marvel Studios' films, and later TV shows, for years to come.
The Avengers featured Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner as the McU's original Avengers team, brought together by Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury and Shield in Earth's greatest moment of need. While these actors (aside from Mark Ruffalo) had previously portrayed their respective heroes in self-contained projects, The Avengers explored the Avengers' team dynamic in...

Unfortunately, The Gifted season 3 won’t be happening, although Disney+ has made the X-Men show available to stream. Since then there's been a resurgence of interest, with many of its newly-found followers wondering why The Gifted was canceled after season 2. The Gifted is the brainchild of X-Men super-fan and Burn Notice creator Matt Nix, and aired its first two (and only) seasons on Fox between 2017 and 2019. Described by Nix as “Running On Empty with mutants,” Marvel's The Gifted follows suburban parents Reed and Caitlin Strucker (Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker) as they go on the run after discovering their teenage kids Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind) and Andy (Percy Hynes White) have mutant abilities.
The Gifted occurs outside Fox's X-Men timeline and the McU's Multiverse, set in an alternate universe/time in which the X-Men have disappeared following a mutant terrorist attack that prompted the U.S. government to enact harsh anti-mutant laws.

Screen Rant is pleased to present an exclusive clip from this week's episode of The Watchful Eye. The Freeform mystery series combines thriller elements with a supernatural tone, focusing on an eerie building owned by the Greybourne family that appears to attract bad luck and tragic endings. When the sweet yet sinister Elena Santos (Mariel Molino) becomes a nanny in order to make her way into the Greybourne and steal a ruby, she finds herself facing forces with plans more malevolent than her own.
The Watchful Eye also stars Warren Christie (who recently made a splash in the short-lived Batwoman series) as Matthew Ward, the widower of Greybourne descendant Allie and Elena's new boss. Person of Interest's Amy Acker has also joined the cast as Allie's sister Tory, whose animosity towards Elena is less about suspicion and more a matter of pure jealousy. Coming from a background in Spanish physical comedy, Mariel Molino, who plays a nanny with a sinister secret in Freeform’s new Hitchcockian thriller series “The Watchful Eye,” faced a “learning curve” while filming ominous scenes as she transformed big movements into small specifics full of nuance and imagination.
“Everything that you think you might have to play up, actually, you have to be a lot more small about and you have to be more specific and nuanced,” Molino told TheWrap. “I really learned to trust my instinct and my imagination … and use the camera as my co-star because a lot of the scenes were me alone and me reacting to a sound that wasn’t there, or a person that is not there.”

Durk also co-executive produces alongside Ryan Seacrest (American Idol), Nina Wass (Insatiable), Andrea Shay (Insatiable), and Jeffrey Reiner (The Affair). When Mariel Molino was a little girl, all she wanted was to be on the Disney Channel. “The American dream, for me, was Hannah Montana,” says the Mexican American actress. “I even wanted my dad to be Billy Ray Cyrus, but he had a really thick accent, so I wasn’t sure how that would work.” Now, years later, a different version of that dream is coming true. Molino — who is named after Mariel Hemingway (“My parents were just big fans of hers,” she says) — has landed the lead on Freeform’s marquee winter thriller series The Watchful Eye, which counts Ryan Seacrest as an executive producer and is out Jan. 30. It’s only her second television job in the U.S.

Nothing is as it seems when Elena (Mariel Molino), a determined young woman with a sordid history, moves into an upscale Manhattan apartment building to work as a live-in nanny for wealthy widower Matthew (Warren Christie) in the new thriller, The Watchful Eye. For one thing, the place feels haunted! And she’s always at odds with Matthew’s sister-in-law, Tory (Amy Acker), who tried to block Matthew from hiring her. At times cold and patronizing, at others seeming like she’s barely keeping herself together after her sister’s suicide, Tory is one of many mysterious moneybags in residence at the ill-fated Greybourne. (Gilmore Girls’ Kelly Bishop also plays the audacious Mrs. Ivey.) “She’s very misunderstood,” says Acker (Angel) of Tory. “She’s her own worst enemy a lot of the time. She feels like she’s doing the right thing — keeping everybody in line and helping make everything perfect.

"Set in an idyllic waterfront town in the Pacific Northwest, the next chapter of Cruel Summer follows the rise and fall of an intense teenage friendship," according to the logline.
"Approaching the story from three different timelines surrounding Y2K, the season twists and turns as it tracks the early friendship between Megan, Isabella and Megan's best friend Luke, the love triangle that blossomed, and the mystery that would impact all of their lives going forward."
The cast includes Sadie Stanley, Lexi Underwood, Griffin Gluck, KaDee Strickland, Lisa Yamada, and Sean Blakemore. Paul Adelstein will recur.
