Theatrical debut in 1895, as Adonis Evergreen, in "My Awful Dad" at the Opera House in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
American character actor and playwright, with previous vaudeville experience. In films with Edison from 1914, he excelled as a dialectitian and often played ethnic (particularly Asian) roles on screen.
