Pierre Bénichou was born on March 1, 1938 in Oran, French Algeria. He was an actor and writer, known for Mora (1982), Pêcheur d'Islande (1959) and Turf (2013). He was married to Alix Dufaure. He died on March 31, 2020 in Paris, France.
He is the nephew of Georges Dayan and of professor Paul Bénichou (1908-2001).
Journalist, media director and actor, he is the father of Antoine Bénichou and the stepfather of Vincent Lindon. Albert Camus worked as a professor in the high school of his father in Oran.
His only book is a great collection of portraits of people he knew published in L'Obs when they died.
