Ivo Canelas was born on December 23, 1973 in Lisbon, Portugal. He is an actor and cinematographer, known for The Mystery of Sintra (2007), Liberdade 21 (2008) and The Art of Stealing (2008).

Won the 1999 Ribeiro da Fonte award.
Nominated - Outstanding Actor in a Drama, Monaco TV Festival (2009) for: "21, Liberdade Avenue" (Mini-series, Portugal).
Winner - Best Actor (2009) - Ibero Brasil Cine Festival for English language film "Arte De Roubar" ("Art of Stealing").
Winner - Best Actor 2010 Festival Dos Caminhos Do Cinema Portugues, for his lead role in "Desesperadamente Real (Desperately Real)".
Starred as the lead in 8 of Portugal's top 40 grossing films released between 2004-2011.
