Venom: The Last Dance's new title teases the final adventure for Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock, a.k.a. Venom, in Sony's Spider-Man Universe. Venom: The Last Dance is Sony's final opportunity to introduce Peter Parker's Spider-Man into their franchise. Venom and Spider-Man are mortal enemies in Marvel Comics, so it would be an insult for Spider-Man to debut in the Ssu after Venom: The Last Dance's release.
One major MCU cameo has become even more important after the reveal of the official title for Venom: The Last Dance. Back in 2018, Tom Hardy confirmed that he had signed on to star as Eddie Brock, the host of the alien symbiote Venom, in three Sony Spider-Man Universe projects. After 2018's Venom and 2021's Venom: Let There Be Carnage, work began on a third installment in December 2021, which is now expected to release on October 25, 2024. In March, Venom 3 was...

Kevin Feige still wants to make Avengers: Secret Wars the biggest phenomenon in the superhero genre, despite the numerous setbacks faced by the studio. While his Og Marvel characters have started failing him, Feige wants other new characters from Sony and 20th Century Fox to play major roles in upcoming films. Most notably, Feige is reportedly eyeing Tom Hardy’s Venom to play a key role in Avengers 6.
Kevin Feige and Tom Holland on the sets of Spider-Man movie
Fans do not like the idea at all, as they believe that Kevin Feige is attempting to involve too many characters and story arcs in the film. This has the potential to turn the film into a giant mess. They want Tom Hardy’s Venom to stay within the Ssu, and Marvel could possibly introduce his arc via the next Spider-Man film.

It’s a big year for Sony’s Spider-Man-adjacent comic book universe. The year started with Madame Web connecting them all – and this summer, we’ll see Aaron Taylor-Johnson make his debut as the title character of J.C. Chandor’s Kraven The Hunter. And beyond that, there’s a third film to come from the ‘Spumc’ (as it was once known) in 2024 – Tom Hardy’s third outing as Venom. Now, some fresh details have emerged about what’s in store.
The film has received the official title Venom: The Last Dance – a title that indicates a possible trilogy-capping final chapter. Or, perhaps, a Magic Mike-esque bout of male stripping. Perhaps even both. The film – both written and directed by Kelly Marcel, who co-wrote on Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage – also has a new release date, set to hit screens on 25 October. Venom: The Last Dance will now conclude Tom Hardy's trilogy, with the finale directed by Kelly Marcel. Speculation about the inclusion of the 1990s Chicago Bulls basketball team is, as yet, unconfirmed. Plot details are still under wraps at the moment, but the threequel will also feature Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Clark Backo.

While Sony’s Spider-Verse movies Madame Web and Morbius both laid eggs at the box office (to put it mildly), another live-action franchise from the studio has been minting money – the Venom films. Despite pretty awful reviews, the first movie made $856 million worldwide. The sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, only made just over $500 million (still a lot of moolah), but that was due to opening during the pandemic (it was actually the third highest-grossing movie of the year). With the third film pretty much guaranteed to make money no matter how it fares with critics, Sony is moving it up slightly on the release calendar, with it now set for October 25th, 2024. The movie also has a new title, Venom: The Last Dance.
This pre-Halloween weekend propelled Five Nights at Freddy’s to a huge opening, and Sony is no doubt hoping to score with horror audiences as well as superhero fans.

Sony on Tuesday said its third movie in the Venom franchise now has a name and a new release date: It’s called Venom: The Last Dance, and it’s now opening October 25 this year, not November 8.
The threequel will screen in Imax and on PLFs.
Kelly Marcel directs Tom Hardy, who plays the black widow creature for a third time. Marcel also wrote the screenplay with a story she co-penned with Hardy. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Hutch Parker, Marcel and Hardy are producing.
Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor also star.
Venom 3 moves away from 20th Century Studios’ The Amateur and lands on the same theatrical release date as Universal/Blumhouse’s The Wolfman and Cinedigm’s Terrifier 3.
All in, the previous two Venom movies have grossed $1.36 billion at the global box office.

How do you capture Jenne Casarotto? She was at the intersection of theatre, film and television. It all, seemingly, swirled around her.
Not just around her.
It was the brilliant team that she assembled at Casarotto Ramsay & Associates, the agency that’s been at the epicenter of UK arts culture for over three decades. Correction: The company’s reach extended far beyond the environs of London’s Soho.
One would see her in Venice, Cannes, Toronto and Sydney. One would not be at all surprised to be at a screening at, let’s say, Sundance, and there’d be a tap on the shoulder when the lights came up. “That was great stuff, wasn’t it?” She’d say gleefully.
It was a bit of a test because she’d expect you to be honest with her. Well, it was godawful, actually, and she’d nod sagely, her eyes twinkling behind her specs.

A new behind-the-scenes photo from the set of Sony Pictures' Venom 3 has an interesting connection to Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Venom 3 star Tom Hardy recently shared a new photo from the upcoming Marvel threequel on his Instagram account, with the caption, "Two Masters of their own destiny and two randoms from Sw London spinning in the cosmos one with a compass the other wears his wetsuit and carries an aubergine." Spider-Man fans quickly recognized the outfit Hardy was wearing in the photo to be the same duds — a Golden State Warriors tee and palm tree shirt — that he wore in the post-credits scene for 2021's No Way Home. This could mean that Venom 3 will begin with Hardy's Eddie Brock transported back to Sony's Spider-Man Universe after his brief trip to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It was a night of surprises, not especially pleasant ones for the teams behind Barbie and Killers of the Flower Moon, and there were no egregious upsets. Neither were there any of the usual technical nightmares that have plagued the event in the past.
Instead, there were lots of low-key but memorable moments, like Oppenheimer’s Robert Downey Jr., dressed in a gray tail suit to collect his Best Supporting Actor award recalling his life in 30 seconds.
Da’Vine Joy Randolph was similarly charming on accepting her Best Supporting Actress award, swooning over presenter Chiwetel Ejiofor and bringing her Holdovers co-star Paul Giamatti to tears when she told him, “I cry every time I see your name.” Equally emotional were June Givanni, receiving this year’s Outstanding Contribution award; Samantha Morton, whose BFI Fellowship was awarded after filmed testimony from Tom Cruise; and the whole audience, who went wild for Still’s Michael J. Fox who handed out the Best Film award to Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.
Wonka star Keegan-Michael Key, presenting, sustained a surprisingly funny attempt to pretend to be British, and, taking the first award of the night for Best Original Screenplay, husband and wife team Justine Triet and Arthur Harari joked that their murderous marital drama Anatomy of a Fall had taken on a life of its own.
All night, speeches were crisp and clean, with only the teams behind The Zone of Interest and 20 Days in Mariupol bringing politics into the conversation, even after Tennant gave the go-ahead by mentioning the recent murder of Alexei Navalny, subject of last year’s Best Documentary winner.
The musical numbers left a lot to be desired. Sophie Ellis-Bextor performed her Saltburn showstopper “Murder on the Dancefloor,” which is more than a few rungs down from Shirley Bassey doing “Diamonds Are Forever” in 2022. Meanwhile, Hannah Waddingham doing a slowed-down version of Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” wasn’t quite what the particularly touching obituary sequence was crying out for. By far the worst of all, though, was a comedy routine by Nick Mohammed performing as a sweaty light entertainer called Mr. Swallow. We must never think or speak of it again.

BAFTA best Actress Emma Stone in Poor Things
Oppenheimer was the big winner at tonight's BAFTAs, with seven awards in total, including Best Film, but it was also a fantastic night for Yorgos Lanthimos' Poor Things, which scored five, with Emma Stone taking Best Actress.
Christopher Nolan accepted his Best Director award with his customary humility, thanking cast and crew for what he clearly feels was a team effort. He also highlighted the fact that, despite the grim note on which his film ends, in the real world there are lots of people who have worked to reduce the presence of nuclear weapons.
D'Vine Joy Randolph was thrilled to add another Best Supporting Actress win to her quiver, and also to have the opportunity to flirt with Chiwetel Ejiofor, who presented it to her.
