Aaron Carter’s death has been ruled an accident, according to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner.
The late singer and younger brother of Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter was found dead on Nov. 5 at the age of 34. At the time, no cause of death was given, but according to an autopsy report obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Carter’s manner of death was an accident, caused by drowning and the effects of difluoroethane and alprazolam, a generic form of Xanax.
The toxicology report found the presence of difluoroethane, a gas commonly used in air spray cleaners for electronic devices that can induce feelings of euphoria when inhaled, the report explained. Alprazolam, on the other hand, can have depressant effects, which can cause drowsiness and sedation, according to the coroner.

Aaron Carter’s sister, Angel Conrad, is opening up about losing her “selfless” twin, how she and older brother, Nick Carter, are carrying each through their grief and why the loss has “lit a fire” inside her to fight mental illness.
Aaron passed away in November following a long struggle with mental illness and addiction. He was 34. Amid her grief, Angel organized Wednesday’s star-studded West Hollywood benefit concert, Songs for Tomorrow, to celebrate Aaron’s life and generate conversation around mental illness.
“I will always remember Aaron as a selfless, goofy person, who ultimately just wanted to be loved,” Angel told Et Canada prior to the concert. “Unfortunately, he didn’t learn to love himself first, which is something a lot of people struggle with. In his own words, self-love meant self-respect and self-worth — he had a hard time with that.”

It was a sad day in the pop world on Wednesday, as the news spread around the Rich Cronin, singer for Lfo and songwriter of once-ubiquitous 1999 pop smash "Summer Girls," passed away after a long battle with leukemia. He was only 35 years old, and left behind a legacy of woefully underrated pop tunes that were unfortunately saddled with the group's gimmicky name (the letters stood for "Lyte Funky Ones") and the too-clever lyrics to their biggest hit ("New Kids on the Block had a bunch of hits/ Chinese food makes me sick").
Born and raised outside of Boston, Cronin formed Lfo in the late '90s with friends Brad Fischetti and Devin Lima. Their self-titled debut made an immediate impact, turning "Summer Girls" into a massive hit (it peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100) and moving over two million copies.
