Boris Gavrilovic moved to the US from Yugoslavia in the late eighties.
He worked in the lower ranks of film production in New York in the
early nineties before going to graduate school to study film. His
experimental thesis film "Lesson 28" was shown at more than dozen film
festivals in the United States and in Europe. For this film he received
a best surreal film award at The Humboldt International Film Festival,
bronze award for experimental film at the New York Expo of Short Film
and Video and a jury prize at the Chicago International Film Festival.
For a couple of years Boris worked in NYC as a commercial photographer
while filming "My Life as an Underdog." He is currently involved in the
post-production of this film and is teaching filmmaking and animation
in New Jersey.
