State of ‘The Walking Dead’: AMC’s Zombie Franchise Reaches an Inflection Point

State of ‘The Walking Dead’: AMC’s Zombie Franchise Reaches an Inflection Point
Nearly a decade after the first show premiered, the “Walking Dead” franchise is far from dead.

Expanding beyond the world of the comic book series of the same name created by Robert Kirkman, there are three shows set in the “Walking Dead” universe on the air, with the new one, “The Walking Dead: World Beyond,” set to debut Oct. 4 on AMC following the long-delayed Season 10 episode of “The Walking Dead,” which had been set as the finale until AMC decided to add more episodes to the season.

There is also the popular after-show “Talking Dead,” hosted by Chris Hardwick. Beyond that, the franchise now includes mobile games, toys and other merchandise, as well as upcoming feature films starring “Walking Dead” mainstay Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, originally supposed to start production in 2019 but still in “very active development,” per AMC Networks chief operating officer Ed Carroll.

Lauren Cohan Says The Walking Dead’s Ending Is Bittersweet

Lauren Cohan Says The Walking Dead’s Ending Is Bittersweet
After 12 years on our screens, The Walking Dead is set to end in 2022. Due to the pandemic affecting production, we don’t exactly have two seasons left to go, but we do have the same amount of episodes, as there’s still a total of 30 installments remaining before the groundbreaking post-apocalyptic drama says goodbye.

Of course, fans were devastated by the news when it dropped in early September, but it’s even more of an emotional experience for those who make the show. While speaking on AMC’s Walking Dead Universe Preview Special last weekend, Lauren Cohan told host Chris Hardwick that it was “such a crazy sensation” to find out the news that Twd was coming to a close. “I mean, bittersweet, of course,” she added, before going on to describe the “mixed bag of emotions” brought about by the announcement.

“When you really, really love a show, it

‘The Wall’ Renewed For Season 4 At NBC

‘The Wall’ Renewed For Season 4 At NBC
NBC has renewed non-scripted competition series The Wall for a fourth season.

The network has handed the show, which will see Chris Hardwick return as host, a 20-episode run.

This comes as it scheduled the three remaining episodes of the third season, which launched in March. The final episodes will air on October 1, October 21 and October 28 at 8pm.

Executive produced by LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Andrew Glassman and Hardwick, the game features two-person teams related by family, friendship or life experience competing for a cash prize. If a question is answered correctly a green ball falls down the five-story wall, adding the value of the slot to the players’ winning total. If it’s wrong, a red ball will fall and deduct the value from the team. With more than $13 million on the line, teammates have to work together to build a huge cash prize.

‘The Wall’ Renewed for Season 4 at NBC
NBC is adding another big brick to its wall.

The network has renewed “The Wall” for a 20-episode fourth season. Chris Hardwick will return as host for season 4, and sources confirm that the three remaining episodes of the previous season will now air Oct. 1, Oct. 21 and Oct. 28 in the 8 p.m. time slot.

Executive produced by LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Andrew Glassman, and host Hardwick, “The Wall” premiered in 2016, with contestants competing for a grand prize each episode of more than $13 million.

The titular wall itself is four-stories high, and the rules are simple: Get a question correct, and a green ball will fall down the wall and add the value of the slot to the players’ winning total. Miss a question, and an ominous red ball with fall and deduct the value from the teams’ total. Teammates have to work together to build a huge cash prize.

Tales Of The Walking Dead Spinoff May Have Animated And Musical Episodes

Tales Of The Walking Dead Spinoff May Have Animated And Musical Episodes
The Walking Dead ending in 2022 doesn’t mean the Twd universe as a whole is ending. For starters, AMC has commissioned two brand new spinoffs to follow it. There’s the much-discussed vehicle for Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride, centring on Daryl and Carol, but there’s also an anthology series titled Tales of the Walking Dead, which will focus on different characters, periods and settings every week.

In fact, the remit for Tales is even broader than we first realized. On Sunday’s Walking Dead Universe Preview Special, host Chris Hardwick read out an exciting statement from Twd chief content officer Scott M. Gimple. In it, the EP promises that the show will go in “all sorts of directions.” It seems like nothing is being taken off the table, as Gimple even teases that animated episodes or musicals are possible.

“We’ve been playing with the Tales of format for nearly three years now,

How To Watch The Walking Dead Season 10 Finale Early
In a month’s time, the long wait will be over and The Walking Dead season 10 finale will at last arrive on AMC. The finale – or as it’s being promoted, The Walking Dead Special Event – is being shown with the series premiere of new spinoff The Walking Dead: World Beyond on Sunday the 4th. However, both will also be available for early streaming starting from Thursday, October 1st on AMC Premiere. So, those who are already subscribed to the service have that to look forward to. The Walking Dead: What is the Origin of the Zombie Outbreak?

The Walking Dead: What is the Origin of the Zombie Outbreak?
Back in the “Before Times” of January 2020, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman fielded a Twitter question about a pandemic unrelated to the one that would soon seize the world.

“What was the origin of the zombie outbreak on The Walking Dead?” one Twitter user wanted to know. Kirkman answered the question simply and succinctly with:

“Space spore.”

You may have noticed that the exchange above contains no links to the tweets in question. That’s because they no longer exist. Kirkman deleted his “space spore” tweet shortly after dozens of websites picked it up and ran with “The Walking Dead Creator Reveals Zombie Outbreak Origin” headlines.

One could forgive the Internet Take Industrial Complex for taking Kirkman’s answer and running with it though. Kirkman has a decent track record of spoiler-reveals. Through 193 issues of The Walking Dead, he was fond of holding spoiler-y information over readers’ heads in

The night is set to be a bumper evening for fans as it will also see the series premiere of brand new spinoff The Walking Dead: World Beyond, which is about the first generation to grow up during the zombie apocalypse. But before all that, we’re getting a catch-up show entitled The Walking Dead Preview Special (2020). The Walking Dead Star Reveals If Daryl Would’ve Left With Michonne To Find Rick

The Walking Dead Star Reveals If Daryl Would’ve Left With Michonne To Find Rick
Michonne was written out of The Walking Dead in the later episodes of season 10 as Danai Gurira’s character discovered proof that Rick Grimes was still alive. With her daughter Judith’s blessing, Michonne left behind her friends and family and their fight and set off to find her lost love. But would Daryl have made the same choice?

Judith kept the full facts from her “uncle” out of fear that he would leave her, too, only telling him the truth in the penultimate installment of the season. During the recent Twd virtual panel at Comic-Con@Home, star Norman Reedus gave a definitive answer on whether Judith’s worries were right or not, saying that he believes that, even if he was told what had happened sooner, Daryl wouldn’t have gone with Michonne.

“Not at that moment,” Reedus told host Chris Hardwick. “I feel like you have to take care of the kids,
