Martin and Chris Kratt, otherwise known as the “Wild Kratts,” are brothers who love nature. In their new collection Wild Kratts Wildest Animal Adventures, the Kratt brothers explore and learn about animals from all around the world from great white sharks to platypus and birds of paradise. At the start of each episode, the real-life brothers introduce the animal they will be following in the episode, and then they transform into cartoon versions of themselves before setting off on their adventure. They also have a team of sidekicks to supply them with whatever they might need, including power discs that grant them powers based on whatever animal they are tracking, and they all together travel around in a giant flying turtle-like laboratory/flying machine.

Hereafter (Warner Bros.) Clint Eastwood’s spiritual thriller follows a trio of characters whose seemingly disparate paths converge: Matt Damon as a blue collar Joe who tries to fight against his psychic powers that see “the other side,” Cecile de France as a journalist who somehow survives the tsunami that crushed Indonesia, and a London schoolboy (Frankie and George McLaren) who seeks answers after losing his twin brother. Like all of Eastwood’s films, the narrative construction is tight as a drum, with solid work by all involved. That said, “solid” would have to be the operative word to describe the proceedings here, as well as “unremarkable” and “uninvolving” on an emotional level. Perhaps we expect too much when we see Clint’s name on a film these days, but that’s the flip side of being one of the best. Blu-ray/DVD combo pack.

If you have children, and haven't been avoiding television at all costs, you're most likely familiar with Zoboomafoo. The animal show with the crazy name featured brothers Chris and Martin Kratt, their hopping lemur friend, and animals galore. They have a new show that kicked off recently, Wild Kratts, and while very different, it's another great show focusing on animals and science.
This time around, the Kratts deliver a mostly-animated sort of adventure, which takes them around the world to explore the lives and habitats of various animals. Along with their team, they study the science of animal life, and create new suits to help them in their quests.
Wild Kratts takes kids on brilliant adventures, from zipping along with fireflies, to exploring the deepest part of the ocean with massive sperm whales, and the usual Kratt charm and fun is in every minute. Bouncing around in all the cool...
