Maria Clara Machado was born on April 3, 1921 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil as Maria Clara Jacob Machado. She was a writer and actress, known for O Cavalinho Azul (1984), Ângela (1951) and A Dança das Bruxas (1970). She died on April 30, 2001 in Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Daughter of writer Anibal Machado.
She was a writer, a director, a teacher and an author of children's plays.
In 1949 she went to Paris where she lived and studied for one year.
Founder of Tablado Theater - a theater school - in Rio de Janeiro (1951). Many Brazilian actor studied in Tablado: Malu Mader, Cláudia Abreu, Leonardo Brício, Louise Cardoso, Lúcio Mauro Filho, Andrea Beltrão, Miguel Falabella, Drica Moraes, Maurício Mattar, Marcello Novaes, Felipe Camargo. Tablado formed more than 5 million actors.
The theater play "Pluft, o Fantasminha" (1955) was her biggest success.
In 2003, in her tribute, the Brazilian post office decided to make seal with the picture of "pluft".
Maria Clara grew up in Rio de Janeiro.
Mother: Aracy Jacob Machado.
Didin't have children.
Her mother Aracy died, at the age of 30, after given birth to her 6 child. At the time Maria Clara was 9 years old.
After her mother died, her father married to Maria Clara's aunt, Selma.
Had five sisters named Ana Maria, Maria Ethel, Maria Luiza, Maria Celina and Aracy Maria.
