‘Young Sheldon’ Production Paused For A Day Because Of Positive Covid-19 Test

‘Young Sheldon’ Production Paused For A Day Because Of Positive Covid-19 Test
Exclusive: Production on CBS’ Young Sheldon was shut down for today, I have learned. I hear the decision was made this morning after a Covid-19 test result for a production team member came back positive. Young Sheldon, from Chuck Lorre Prods. and Warner Bros TV, started production on its fourth season September 22 in Los Angeles and was about to begin filming Episode 3.

The diagnosis of the production member, who is asymptomatic, was discovered as part of the ongoing regular testing implemented by Warner Bros TV for all production employees. The person is currently in isolation. Out of an abundance of caution, production on Young Sheldon was paused for today. The show will be back up on Monday as scheduled.

Wbtv last week did the same for another Los Angeles-based series, CW drama All American, which also suspended production for a day after a positive Covid-19 test for a person from the production.

HBO Max Scores ‘Young Sheldon’ Streaming Rights

HBO Max Scores ‘Young Sheldon’ Streaming Rights
HBO Max has snapped up the rights to Young Sheldon in the latest big streaming deal.

The nascent digital platform, which launched this week, struck a deal with sister company Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution for all three seasons to The Big Bang Theory spin-off.

This brings all of the Bbt universe under one streaming roof after HBO Max closed a major deal last year to pick up all 279 episodes of the original CBS sitcom.

The service didn’t reveal when the show, which stars Iain Armitage as a young Sheldon Cooper, would air and wouldn’t disclose financial details of the deal. However, it is likely to be much less than it paid for its parent show, a deal thought to be north of $600M.

Single camera comedy Young Sheldon, which returns to CBS on Thursday nights in the fall, is the number one comedy on network television with total viewers.

HBO Max Lands ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Streaming Rights, TBS Extends Cable Window In Mega WarnerMedia Deal

Mission accomplished! One of WarnerMedia brass’ top goals for the company’s upcoming streaming service HBO Max was to have the biggest comedy series of the past couple of decades, Friends and The Big Bang Theory — both produced by sibling Warner Bros. After shelling out $425 million for the exclusive streaming rights to Friends, taking it away from Netflix, HBO Max has secured the exclusive streaming rights to all 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory. This marks the first ever streaming pact for past seasons of the hugely popular series, which recently finished its 12-season run on CBS.
