Trivia:
His father, Arthur Morgenthau, a German Jew, fled the Nazis. His mother, Inga (Bojcek), was Polish, and fled the Soviets. After they had emigrated to the UK, they chose the new surname Morgan, an Anglicization of Morgenthau.
