Evan is a graduate of the Ohio Institute of Photography and Wright
State University Film Program where his deep love of shooting,
lighting, printing, was nurtured. Although Evan began his filmmaking
career at the age of 13, with a stop-motion 8mm film set to Lucy in the
Sky with Diamonds, as part of an early filmmakers program, in Dayton,
Ohio. He continued to develop his craft by a through study of early
motion picture history, during his tenure with the Library of Congress,
by inspecting, and preserving old nitrate film from such pioneers of
the art as D.W. Griffith, George
Meles and Thomas Edison.
Evan has drawn inspiration and knowledge from his working with many of
the preeminent cameramen in the business today including such talents
as Dean Cundey,
Robert Richardson,
Michael Ballhaus,
Adam Greenberg,
Janusz Kaminski,
Eric Saarinen and
Kent L. Wakeford.
Over the past twenty years, Evan has worked on over sixty features
including such films as
Godzilla (1998),
Deep Impact (1998),
The X Files (1998) Movie,
Men in Black (1997),
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995),
Spiderman (1990),
Herbie Fully Loaded (2005)
and You, Me and Dupree (2006).
He has also shot 3 commercials for Harrah's Casino.
In the world of Visual Effects, Evan has photographed, and supervised
shots for such feature films as
Gulliver's Travels (2010),
Spider-Man (2002),
Blade (1998), and
Phenomenon (1996),
The Green Mile (1999),
X-Men (2000),
Three Kings (1999),
The Perfect Storm (2000),
Juwanna Mann (2002) and
Monkeybone (2001). In doing so, he
worked with such prestigious visual effects companies as "Industrial
Light and Magic", "P.O.P" and "Mass Illusion".
His cinematic style is evident in the film:
Spiritual Warriors (2007): a
feature film shot on location and lushly crafted around the backdrops
of the Giza Pyramids in Egypt, Petra, Jordan and Palmyra, Syria. The
film includes 250 visual effects shots, extensive green screens, and
location plates which were seamlessly composited to bring a big budget

Evan's shot the feature film is entitled Razor (2012) It was shot on location in Arizona and is
a highly stylized supernatural horror film featuring the edgy look of
rotoscope animation, with live-action revolving around a hyena and its
keeper, who mete out punishment to those with questionable morals.
On a recent trip to the Arctic Circle on the feature documentary "White
On White", Evan filmed a native Inuit polar bear hunt. Living with the
hunters on the ice and documenting their lifestyle.
Thirteen years ago, Evan, became one of the first cameramen to embrace
high definition technology, specializing in bringing an extremely
cinematic look to his cinematography.
His talents as a Digital Imaging Technician are also very much in
demand. Working recently with Andrew Dunn, Greg Fraser, and Hoyta van
Hoytema. He has currently been working on many projects with the
Arriflex Alexa XT, the RED Epic, and has worked on the NBC hit
show Scandal with Kerry Washington for the last 7 Seasons,
and is currently working on Shonda Rhimes show Station 19 Season 3 for ABC.
Evan has recently produced and Shoot a dance Documentary entitled:
FLEETING MOMENTS directed by 3 time Emmy award winner Walter Painter.
Evan has produced and shot numerous Political Ad's, including: working with Jane Harmon, Ted Lieu, Loretta Sanchez, Bobby Shriver,
Kathryn Barger, and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti's Campaign Commercials.
Evan has just Produced, and photographed a Proof of Concept teaser for a Television show entitled Thank God for Murray.
