Gravitas Ventures have announced the acquisition of director Miles Doleac’s macabre riff on the Cernunnos myth, Demigod, which stars Rachel Nichols. The distributor plans for a late-October, day-and-date streaming and theatrical release.
Directed and co-written by Doleac (alongside Michael Donovan Horn), Demigod was produced by Doleac, James Victor Bulian, Lindsay Anne Williams, and Wesley O’Mary, the same team behind 2020’s The Dinner Party. Demigod’s supporting cast includes Doleac, Williams, Elena Sanchez, and Jeremy London.
Says Doleac:
I’m extremely grateful to Jeff Cooper and to Gravitas for their belief in this film’s potential. From its infancy, I knew this was a film that I wanted seen on the big screen. I’m heartened that audiences will have the opportunity to see it in movie theaters, an increasing rarity, of course, for true indie films.

Anti-Life! I went into this sci-fi offering knowing nothing about it other than Bruce Willis stars in it, it’s set in space and Thomas Jane is in it too… when did he become Thomas? What was wrong with being Tom? I like Tom Jane as names go but now he seems to be Thomas, I must get to the bottom of this.
For me, Bruce Willis in space seems like an automatic “Yes, Please”. It’s safe to say I was excited to see this one but it is becoming more and more apparent Willis is absolutely in the straight to DVD era of his career. Though this is not a bad thing because this tends to be when you find some absolute gem projects...

Exclusive: Apex and American Siege writer-director Edward Drake has signed with Buchwald.
Drake directed and co-wrote, alongside Corey Large, the recently wrapped Bruce Willis and Neal McDonough feature Apex which follows a group of elite hunters who pay to hunt a man on a deserted island, only to find themselves becoming the prey.
Drake is reteaming with Willis on the action thriller American Siege. Also co-written with Large, the pic follows Willis as an NYPD detective-turned-Sheriff of a small town in Oregon who must take down a gang of thieves after they take a wealthy doctor hostage.
Drake wrote and directed Broil for Well Go USA starring Jonathan Lipnicki and Timothy Murphy. He also wrote and executive produced Breach starring Willis, Kassandra Clementi and Rachel Nichols, which was acquired by Saban Films for distribution.
This year he wrote and directed Cosmic Sin, another Willis feature, which was also picked up by Saban Films.

For the third time this year, there’s a new Bruce Willis movie heading straight to VOD, but at least this one promises to offer something a little different to the typical action thriller fare that the 65 year-old can usually be found in. It boasts all the hallmarks of a standard B-level Willis vehicle, though, as Breach features a generic title and what appears to be a wholly unoriginal and formulaic plot.
The action icon heads up the cast as generically named protagonist Clay Young, who’s spurred into action on an interstellar voyage when an evil alien force starts infecting other members of the crew. The concept definitely has potential, but Breach doesn’t look to be focusing much on maximizing it, with the trailer swiftly devolving into the usual running and gunning but with a sci-fi element.
Willis looks to be delivering another painfully bored performance, and there...

"So we're headed to New Earth, at the speed of light, with an alien?!" "Yeah, we got it..." Saban Films has released an official trailer for a sci-fi action thriller now known as Breach, formerly known as Anti-Life. On the cusp of fatherhood, a junior mechanic aboard an interstellar ark heading to New Earth must outwit a malevolent cosmic terror (shape-shifting aliens) intent on using the spaceship as a weapon. Unfortunately, even though he was once a kick ass actor, Bruce Willis in any movie nowadays almost guarantees that it's going to be pretty bad. The Breach cast also includes Cody Kearsley, Rachel Nichols, Callan Mulvey, Kassandra Clementi, Timothy V. Murphy, and Thomas Jane as Admiral. The weapons in this are so ugly, and everything in this seems uninspired and derivative. I love sci-fi movies, but not this kind of sci-fi. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for John Suits' Breach,...

Zucker is expected to head At&T’s Turner Sports, according to three people familiar with the matter, broadening his influence at the telecom giant as it moves quickly to re-organize WarnerMedia, the media conglomerate it purchased in June for $81 billion. David Levy, the president of Turner, had supervision of its sports properties, but has decided to leave after he and At&T could not come to terms on a new role at WarnerMedia.
A WarnerMedia spokesman declined to comment, and a spokeswoman for Zucker could not be reached for immediate comment. The Wall Street Journal previously reported Zucker’s new duties. He would continue to lead CNN.
The sports job is an important one at At&T.

Los Angeles Lakers rumors about a lingering LeBron James injury were mentioned during a new episode of The Jump on ESPN. Host Rachel Nichols was discussing the struggles of the Lakers and James with former NBA players Paul Pierce and Tracy McGrady. That was when the James injury from earlier in the season came up. Playing against the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day, LeBron James suffered a severe groin injury. At the time, James was averaging 27.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.1 assists in 34.6 minutes a night for L.A. He had also helped propel the Los Angeles Lakers […]

Titans delivers one of its best episodes yet as the secrets of Raven and Starfire are revealed.
This Titans review contains spoilers.
Titans Episode 10
Titans has been like a roadtrip with a friend with whom the ride is entertaining, but wildly erratic with a lot of detours that leave your head spinning. One minute you’re driving down the highway en route to a steak house for a main meal, the next you’re veering off on a country road to get fresh-baked pie from some backwoods stand.
Except, you know, replace steak house with the main narrative of establishing characters, getting a team together, and trying to unravel the mystery of Rachel, then replace pie stand with, say, “Doom Patrol,” “Jason Todd,” and “Hank and Dawn” episodes.
But, to borrow a phrase from another universe, we’re in the endgame now with the biggest chapter yet, “Koriand’r.” An...

The Performer | Rachel Nichols
The Show | DC Universe’s Titans
The Episode | “Donna Troy” (Nov. 30, 2018)
The Performance | It can’t be easy to arrive seven episodes into a genre series that has been busy-busy-busy with world building, to say, “Hi! I’m that one’s mom!” (It’s even harder to be The Parent Who Was Locked Up Against Her Will for Years and not emerge from the experience rife with tropey ticks and ominous undertones.) But with Nichols’ first full episode as Rachel’s birth mother, Angela Roth, it became clear what Titans has been missing — the warm, nurturing touch of someone normal.

It’s the NBA Draft so nice ESPN is covering it thrice.
The 2018 edition of the annual selection process for the basketball league’s best incoming rookies will see three different teams of broadcasters from the Disney-owned sports empire covering the event, which will be telecast live Thursday evening from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
“The NBA Draft Presented by State Farm” will get the usual showcase on ESPN’s main stage, its premium channel. But for the first time ever, sister network ESPN2 will have an entirely separate squad covering the proceedings from a different angle.
To top that off, a third version will get into the game on Twitter, where “On the Clock” coverage will stream during the first round of picks.

Arriving on DVD tomorrow is the remake of Inside from director Miguel Ángel Vivas and co-writers Jaume Balagueró and Manu Díez. Based on the original 2007 film by Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, this iteration of Inside follows a bereaved expectant mother named Sarah (Rachel Nichols) who is being tormented by an unknown woman (Laura Harring) who will stop at nothing to get her hands on Sarah’s unborn child.
Daily Dead recently conducted a Q&A with Vivas about Inside, and he discussed what initially drew him into the project, his positive experiences working with his strong female leads, the film’s ambitious finale, and more.
What was it about this project in particular that you connected with as a storyteller and made you want to take it on as a directorial project?

For roughly the first third of 2018’s Inside, I felt sympathetic towards a remake whose original “equal” is highly regarded amongst genre crowds. Yet as plot similarities fade, freedoms from comparative shackles prove themselves to be rather trivial and unaffecting. From the director of Kidnapped (a thriller I dig) and the co-writer of [Rec] (an outbreak nightmare I adore) comes a head-scratching tale of coincidental deaths on par with neither of their previously taught accolades. Points awarded for deviating from Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury’s brutalization so noticeably, but lordy, this is some serious “scream at the screen” kind of frustration at times.
Rachel Nichols stars as Sarah Clark, a pregnant widow trying to cope with a recent car accident that took her husband’s life. On this particular night during the Christmas holiday season, she goes to bed knowing her mother is en route and neighbors are keeping watch...
