‘Descendants’ Author Inks New Writing-Producing Deal With Brad Krevoy For 2 Hallmark Channel Movies
Exclusive: New York Times bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz, has signed a second writing and producing deal with Brad Krevoy’s Motion Picture Company of America for two Hallmark Channel Christmas movies to air in 2020.

Christmas in Angel Falls 3, with Rachel Boston and Paul Greene reprising their roles, will continue the story of an angel who falls in love with a mortal and gives up her wings. Christmas at Mansfield Park is the third of de la Cruz’s Jane Austen-themed Christmas movies.

De la Cruz and Mpca previously worked on four Christmas movies for the Hallmark Channel including Christmas in Angel Falls, Angel Falls: A Novel Holiday, Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe (based on de la Cruz’s novel published by St. Martin’s Press) and Sense, Sensibility and Snowmen.

‘When Calls The Heart’ Producer Inks Deal With ‘High Strung’ Duo For Three Christmas TV Movies
Exclusive: Brad Krevoy Television, a division of Mpca and producer of Hallmark Channel’s hit series When Calls the Heart, has signed a deal with High Strung creators Michael and Janeen Damian for three Christmas TV movies. The films, Much Ado About Christmas, Christmas in Transylvania and The Christmas Waltz, are slated to begin production this year.

The Damians are behind High Strung and High Strung Free Dance, the sequel, both theatrically released by The Walt Disney Company in international territories and by Sony, Netflix, Redbox and others in the U.S. High Strung Free Dance is set to release digitally in the U.S. February 4, courtesy of Gvn Releasing.

Freeform Sets Premiere Dates For ‘Grown-ish’, ‘Good Trouble’ & ‘The Bold Type’
Freeform has set January premiere dates for new seasons of Grown-ish and The Bold Type and the midseason return of Good Trouble.

The Season 3 premiere of Black-ish spinoff Grown-ish will serve as the lead-in for the previously dated new comedy Everything’s Gonna Be Okay at 8 p.m. Thursday, January 16. The following week will see the fourth-season launch of The Bold Type taking over the 9 p.m. Thursday slot.

Meanwhile, Season 2B of The Fosters spinoff Good Trouble begins at 10 p.m. Wednesday, January 15.

The Disney-owned cable net earlier had revealed premiere dates for its new Party of Five reboot and new comedy Everything’s Gonna Be Okay. Both will debut with back-to-back episodes. ‘Tis the season!

Hallmark announced its 2019 holiday movie lineup on Wednesday — and it’s packed with romance, family reunions and all the wintery goodness imaginable.

The special 10th anniversary edition of the top-rated programming event, Countdown to Christmas, begins in October on the Hallmark Channel and encompasses 24 new, original holiday movies. Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Miracles of Christmas will also premiere 16 new films.

A total of 40 films will premiere on both networks in 2019, starring everyone from Kristin Chenoweth to Kathie Lee Gifford to Lacey Chabert.

Freeform has picked up a fourth season of dramedy The Bold Type. Series stars Katie Stevens, Aisha Dee and Meghann Fahy made the announcement during the Freeform portion of the Disney upfront presentation in New York City.

The Bold Type was a breakout for Freeform, earning a two-season pickup. As was the case at the time of the Season 2 and Season 3 renewal, the series is changing showrunners. Amanda Lasher, who ran the dramedy the last two seasons, will be succeeded by Wendy Straker Hauser, who has been with the series since its first season.

"The Bold Type" Renewed for Season 4 at Freeform, Switches Showrunners Again

“The Bold Type” has been renewed for a fourth season at Freeform but will switch showrunners once again.

Taking the stage during the network’s portion of the Disney upfront presentation in New York Tuesday, series stars Aisha Dee, Meghann Fahy and Katie Stevens announced the return.

Amanda Lasher, who took over as showrunner in Season 2 will step down in that role for Season 4, and Wendy Straker Hauser, who has been a producer on the series since the launch, will take on the new title. Hauser is also known being a co-producer on Hulu’s dystopian drama “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
