Shivaji Satam is an Indian television and film actor. He is a Chemistry graduate from the University of Mumbai. He also completed his Diploma in Business Administration and later worked as a banker and inspection officer before joining the film industry.

Satam started his career in the television industry in the series Rishte-Naate (1980), where he co-starred with Navin Nischol.

In 1994, Satam starred in the award-winning film English, August (1994), where he played the role of Govind Sathe. He starred alongside Rahul Bose and Tanvi Azmi.

His two releases in 1997 include Yeshwant (1997), where he played a police inspector, and Ghulam-E-Musthafa (1997), where he played Dayanand Dixit. He was nominated at the Star Screen Awards for Best Actor for his role in Ghulam-E-Musthafa (1997).

It was much later, in 1988, that he made his debut on the big screen as a doctor with the film Pestonjee (1988), starring alongside big names in the industry like Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi.

However, his major break came in 1998 with the TV series C.I.D. (1998). The show ran for 20 years, and he won the best actor in a lead role at the Indian Telly Awards in 2002 for his role as ACP Pradyuman.

In 2001, he played the role of a doctor in the Marathi film Ek Hoti Vadi (2001), earning him the best actor award at the Maharashtra State Film Awards. He also won the best actor award for the play Dhyanimani.

He also starred in the crime drama Split Wide Open (1999). His co-stars in the film were Rahul Bose and Laila Rouass.

His second Marathi film, Uttarayan (2004), was released in 2004. Following that, he had four more releases in Marathi, including De Dhakka (2008), Haapus (2010), De Dhakka 2 (2022), and Bamboo (2023).
