Dedicate Mumbai coastal road to Lata Didi, urges Mangeshkar family
Mumbai, Feb 6 (Ians) On the first death anniversary of the legendary singer, Lata Mangeshkar’s family on Monday urged that the upcoming Mumbai Coastal Road Project should be named in her memory.

The plea was gently voiced on behalf of the clan by veteran singer Usha Mangeshkar on the occasion of the foundation stone laying ceremony for Lata Didi’s memorial at Haji Ali Chowk.

“We are very pleased that the memorial is coming up here… Its quite close to our home, Prabhu Kunj. The Maharashtra government and the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation are working on it and it will be ready soon. We want it (the road) to be named in memory of Lata Didi,” she said.

The proposed 40-feet tall memorial, to be named ‘Swarancha Kalpvriksha’ (Melodious Tree) will be constructed through Tourism Minister M.P. Lodha from his Mla funds with contribution from the Bmc, and is expected

Mumbai, Nov 13: The team of crime thriller show "C.I.D." was delighted to shoot an episode with Bollywood actor Sunny Deol in a cameo role to promote his forthcoming film "Singh Saab The Great".

Sunny was on the set of the long-running show Tuesday.

Senior actor Shivaji Satam, who plays Acp Pradyuman in the show, is all praise for the Sunny's down-to-earth nature.

'C.I.D.' can't be like 'Crime Patrol', says producer
New Delhi, Sep 29: "C.I.D." producer B.P Singh, who recently celebrated the 1000th episode of the detective show, says this serial has its own format and cannot become like the other crime thrillers on the television.

"We want to keep our identity intact. We cannot become like 'Savdhaan India' or 'Crime Patrol'. We will stay 'C.I.D.'. We cannot get away from making murder mysteries," Singh told Ians in a telephonic interview.

'C.I.D.' team to lend helping hand in Uttarakhand
Mumbai, June 24: Members of the TV crime show "C.I.D." actor Dayanand Shetty and director B.P. Singh will leave for Uttarakhand Tuesday to lend help to victims of the devastating floods in the hill state, said a source.

Thousands of people are said to be either stranded or have gone missing after unprecedented rains and cloudburst led to landslides and flash floods, killing hundreds of people in the state.

"C.I.D." is the longest running crime show on Indian television. Running successfully since 16 years, it features actors like Shivaji Satam and Aditya Srivastava. The show airs on Sony Entertainment Television.

New Delhi, Oct 3: Popular TV crime series Cid is set to venture into regional market. The small screen's longest running show will be launched in West Bengal as "Cid Kolkata Bureau".

"Cid", which is aired on Sony Entertainment Television, will be premiered in West Bengal on Sony's Bengali language channel Aath, said a statement.

Actor Shivaji Satam, who plays Acp Pradyuman, will announce the launch of their Kolkata team. The new show will have fresh set of officers, who will solve cases in their local areas. The cast and the date on which the show goes on air is yet to be finalised.

"Cid Kolkata Bureau" will be produced by the same production house, Fireworks Entertainment, which is behind the popular Hindi language.

Mahesh Manjrekar has cast Kashmera Shah in his next film, City of Gold. This will be Kashmera’s first proper role as she has only done item numbers in Mahesh’s earlier films, Kurukshetra (2000) and Vaastav (1999).
