When Violet wanders into a forest near the village she and her family are staying in, she meets the “fabled” witch of the forest, Hazel, portrayed by the Star Wars actress.
Ora recalled working with Fisher as “an amazing experience,” adding, “I’m really actually surprised and happy that this film’s finally getting the light that it deserves,” the singer told People. “To say I’ve been in scenes with Carrie Fisher, it’s insane. She’s an icon — a legend.”

Carrie Fisher’s last movie — a magical coming-of-age tale set in Italy — has released its first trailer.
Wonderwell sees a young girl named Violet (portrayed by newcomer Kiera Milward) and her American family — including sister Savannah (Tiger Free) — move to Italy after she becomes the face of a world-renowned designer’s (Rita Ora) fashion label. When Violet wanders into a forest near the enchanting medieval village her family has come to stay in, she meets a “fabled” witch of the forest, Fisher’s Hazel.
Guided by the witch into a mysterious portal, Violet glimpses what her future holds, while discovering she may be facing a journey from which there is no return. The film’s logline describes it as “a thrilling, humorous and often terrifying voyage.” Within an imaginary and enchanting realm, the inquisitive tween will have an experience that transforms her — and her world — forever.

Chicago – The opening night of the 2015 Midwest Independent Film Festival is on its usual First Tuesday of the month, February 3rd, and what better way to kick it off then to have Chicagoland native Alex Beh come back to present the Windy City premiere of his first feature film, “Warren.” Beh wrote, directed and performed as the title character in this slice-of-life romance about staying true to a life’s path, and everything that happens in spite of that hope.
Alex Beh was born in Chicago, and grew up in nearby Winnetka. He trained locally in acting and improvisation through The Second City, iO Theater and the Piven Workshop. Now based in Los Angeles, he continues to work as an actor, writer and director, with seven short films to his credit and a number of TV and independent film appearances. In “Warren,” he cast veteran actors John Heard and Jean Smart...

With both James Brown and Jimi Hendrix biopics on their way, it seems like musicians’ stories are gaining traction with financiers and studio execs. The Los Angeles Times and THR is reporting that the cantankerous Smiths frontman, Morrissey, will be the next to see cinematic canonization, though not exactly with his blessing. Titled (at least for now) “Steven,” the film will be directed by the "The Voorman Problem" filmmaker Mark Gill and scripted by both Gill and William Thacker. The project looks “to cover Morrissey’s early years, prior to forming a songwriting partnership with Smiths band mate Johhny Marr, which would lead to international stardom and the sales of millions of records. Gill promises that the film will be less a paint-by-the-numbers biopic and ”more of a portrait“ of the singer. Orian Williams is one of the producers behind the movie, and he's responsible for both Ian Curtis biopic...

A biopic about former Smiths frontman Morrissey's life has been announced.
A statement on Manchester-based production company Honlodge Productions' website refers to the film as "a love letter to Steven Patrick Morrissey and the dark satanic mills of Manchester".
The film will tell the story of Morrissey's early life before The Smiths and is currently working under the title Steven.
"The film is more of a portrait than a conventional biopic," director Mark Gill claimed. "It's as much a film for non-Morrissey fans as it is for die-hard devotees."
Both the film's producer Orian Williams and casting director Shaheen Baig worked on the Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis biopic Control.
The biopic is being developed by the Oscar-nominated team behind short film The Voorman Problem.
Work on the film will begin at the end of the year. It is unclear if Morrissey has endorsed the making of the biopic.

Gossip Girl actor Penn Badgley on playing Jeff Buckley, leaving La and his attempt to bring the World Cup to America
Hi! Where are you right now and what are you doing?
I am home in New York, eating oatmeal. It's one of the first beautiful days of the year, so I think I may go to the park. Lay in the sun, on the grass, get some fresh air. That's really all I have planned.
I thought movie stars were too busy to do that sort of thing?
When you're working hard and the hours are long, yeah. You're not sleeping much, you don't have the time or energy for anything else. But when you're not …
You can be a bum?
Exactly. It's a beautiful balance.
Your breakout role was playing Dan Humphrey in Gossip Girl for six years, where you became a tabloid fixture (1). What was the best thing about it?...
