Director Sarvesh Mewara, who is all geared up for the release of upcoming action drama ‘Tejas’ starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead, has spilled the beans on the inspiration behind the dialogue ‘When in Doubt, Think About The Nation’. Well-studded with nail-biting action sequences, a grand canvas, and an immensely thought-provoking story of national pride, the trailer of ‘Tejas’ has indeed arrived as a treat for the audiences. Below are excerpts from actor Farhan Akhtar, director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, and trainer Drew Neal detailing Akhtar’s physical transformation in the film.
“It is not easy to plan a film where your hero has different looks, and it is not just a haircut or a beard trim, it’s the whole physicality. There is a method to this madness which I don’t understand”, says Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s film has high ambition but dodges complexity in favour of overheated melodrama
Partly set in the Mumbai underworld, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s boxing drama aims at Raging Bull grit but has an unfortunately irresistible drift towards late-Rocky melodrama. Farhan Akhtar – in his second sporting collaboration with Mehra after the 2013 biopic of sprinter Milkha Singh – plays Aziz Ali, orphan and now burly debt collector from the hard-knock port of Dongri. After patching him up a few too many times, winsome but no-nonsense doctor Ananya (Mrunal Thakur) approves when he starts unleashing the beast down at the boxing gym run by fearsome coach Nana Prabhu (Paresh Rawal). A couple of training montages later, and Aziz is a light-heavyweight contender, with his very own snappy moniker: Toofaan (“storm” in Hindi).

Producer Ajay Devgn today released Abhishek Bachchan starrer The Big Bull trailer. No sooner that the trailer went public, the netizens started reacting and comparing it to Hansal Mehta’s web series Scam 1992.
However what caught the attention of the author is the way Abhishek’s name was mentioned. There is an additional ‘A’ between Abhishek & Bachchan to read as ‘Abhishek A. Bachchan’. It appears that Abhishek A. Bachchan is trying a numerological amendment to the name. Though this is a subject that numerologists would know better, there have been a few Bollywood names that instantly come to mind who have (probably) followed this and continue to do so.
A very recent observation being Mahesh Manjrekar, who now seems to be written as ‘Mahesh V Manjrekar’ (1962: The War In The Hills). My initial observation was with filmmaker ‘Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’ and ‘Vipul Amrutlal Shah’. In the beginning they used...

Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra on Tuesday turned nostalgic as his directorial Rang De Basanti completed 15 years of release.
"Rdb has grown more than a film. Even when it was released, it had a huge impact, not just to cinema goers but to the collective consciousness of the nation. The film has remained young and evergreen and I don't know how to describe it but it is a humbling experience to see your work remain relevant. #15YearsOfRDB," Mehra shared on Instagram.
In a separate post, he spoke about the soundtrack of the film composed by A R Rahman. "There are some songs you come across in your life that will make you emotional every time you listen to it. Mine happens to be Luka Chuppi. Whats your favourite song from Rang De Basanti's album?" the filmmaker wrote.
Mehra also shared a video of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar recording the song...

Actor Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor, who recently had a cameo as himself in the Vikramaditya Motwane directorial Ak Vs Ak, says he approached the concept of playing himself as he would have done with any other character.
"I never approached it as myself playing myself, because I'm actually not like that in real life. I just approached it as I would (approach) any other character, building the character from scratch. We were playing versions of ourselves in the world that Vikram had imagined. I'm not really like that, so I just kind of took the material and let that dictate the approach that I took, and had a lot of fun with it," Harsh Varrdhan told Ians.
Recalling the scenes that stayed with him, he said, "The one major scene that I had was a six-seven page monologue. It is nerve wracking to do monologues, especially comedic monologues. It was a big challenge.

Actress Mrunal Thakur feels that very few filmmakers give equal footing to women characters in their movies.
According to her, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is one of those filmmakers who treats female characters in their films well.
"There are very few filmmakers who envision a story that gives its women characters an equal footing. In the best of Rakeysh's works, one can see how beautifully he layers his women. Be it Soha Ali Khan's Sonia in 'Rang De Basanti' or the female characters in 'Delhi 6' or 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', his women are memorable," said Mrunal.
She will be seen in Mehra's next film "Toofan" alongside Farhan Akhtar.
"In 'Toofan' my character is an anchor to the narrative despite not being the driving force of the plot. It was a beautiful experience working with Farhan and Rakeysh. They subconsciously help you push yourself to explore things you haven't tried.
