Pierre Métais and his company Ares Films (created in 1991) have earned a number of notable successes in the kids entertainment space, including the production, direction and distribution of the original series, Quasimodo and Tristan and Isold -- both achieving broadcast sales to more than 80 countries. Métais and Ares also managed the global French speaking rights to internationally recognized hits such as Pokémon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Budgie the Little Helicopter, Zoids, Shugo Chara and many others.
Ares Films and Métais has worked in concert with major global rights holders of numerous successful kid's properties across multiple levels, including: the managing of French language adaptation of more than 4,000 episodes of entertainment content for every French broadcast platform; the commercial adaptation and exploitation of music, such as the Double Gold music CDs for both Pokémon and Yu Gi Oh!; the localization of video games for major multinationals such as, Nintendo, Bandai, Konami, Giochi Preziosi, Hasbro Toy, Tomy and others.
Early in his entertainment business career, Metais worked in the publishing and merchandise licensing business sectors. During these years, he managed a portfolio of audio visual rights, as well as assisting in the development and the coproduction of more than 30 different series, such as Goldorak (Ufo Robot Grendizer), Albator(Captain Harlock),Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, , Denver the Last Dinosaur, Back to the Future, Lucky Luke, Prince Valiant, Transformers and many others.
Pierre Métais is an active member of SACEM (Société des Auteurs, Compositeurs et Editeurs de Musique), SCAM (Société Civile des Auteurs Multimédia) and SACD (Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques) Metais was honored with the European Brand Licensing Award for Outstanding Achievement for the licensing of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
