Exclusive: CBS has put in development dramas Vanishing Point, from writer Breen Frazier (Criminal Minds), and The Honorable from Everybody Hates Chris co-creator Ali Leroi and Michelle Amor (Playin’ for Love). Both hail from Jay and Phil McGraw’s Stage 29 Productions and CBS Television Studios, where Stage 29 is under a first-look deal.

Written by Frazier, Vanishing Point revolves around a cavalier but brilliant behavioral psychologist and his methodical FBI agent ex-wife, who are forced to reteam on a missing-persons case that in fact might be the spark they need to rekindle their relationship and finally locate their own teenage son, who disappeared years before.

Frazier executive produces with Dr. Phil McGraw, Jay McGraw, Julia Eisenman for Stage 29 Productions, along with Marc Provissiero for Odenkirk Provissiero, and Lee Schneller and Jeremy Evans.

The View” has booked Donald Trump Jr. for its 5,000th episode.

Trump Jr. will make his first appearance on the show to promote his new book, “Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us.” Joined by girlfriend and former Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle, the senior advisor to President Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign is set to visit the ABC talker on Nov. 7.

Co-host Joy Behar made the announcement on the show on Friday following a discussion about the couple’s choice of a “witch hunt” costume this Halloween — in reference to the president’s description of his impeachment inquiry and other investigations against him.

‘Dr Phil’ Hits 150 Weeks as Top-Rated Syndicated Talk Show
Dr. Phil” has topped all other syndicated daytime talk shows for the 150th straight week.

The show, hosted by Phil McGraw, drew an average daily audience of 2.9 million viewers for the week-long period ending July 21 despite having been in its eighth-straight week of reruns, according to Nielsen. With a 2.2 live-plus-same-day rating, the show was flat compared to the week prior.

The win also marks the 21st consecutive week “Dr. Phil” has beat “Live With Kelly and Ryan,” which finished second with a 1.9 rating and 2.5 million viewers. “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Maury” and “Wendy Williams” rounded out the top five.

The series, from CBS TV Studios and Amblin TV, is created/executive produced by Homicide: Life On the Streets creator Paul Attanasio. He is known as a prolific creator who develops and writes projects, guiding them to series, but is not interested in day-to-day showrunning. He similarly co-created with Phil McGraw the successful CBS drama series Bull, which has been run by others, currently Glenn Gordon Caron. Attanasio remains an executive producer on both Bull and Tommy.

Tommy, set to debut in midseason, stars Falco as Abigail “Tommy” Thomas, a former high-ranking NYPD officer who becomes the first female Chief of Police of Los Angeles. ‘Bull’: CBS Boss Addresses Show’s Renewal After Michael Weatherly Controversy & Plans To Improve Company Culture

CBS bosses have addressed the controversial decision to renew Bull following sexual harassment allegations against star Michael Weatherly and have promised that new procedures will “go beyond what we’ve done in the past”.

The procedural drama was picked up for a fourth season despite the allegations made against Weatherly by Eliza Dushku, which resulted in a $9.5M settlement with the actress.

CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl said that following Weatherly’s apology, it wanted to make the renewal decision “through a fresh lens and new eyes.”

“When we were looking at a decision and what to do with Bull, what happened was something that a lot of us didn’t know about. So, when it came time to make a decision, we wanted to look at it through a fresh lens and new eyes. We wanted to reassess and look at what happened,” he said.

Exclusive: Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television is walking away from CBS’ popular legal drama Bull in the wake of the sexual harassment allegations against star Michael Weatherly.

A rep for Amblin confirmed to Deadline that Steven Spielberg, Amblin Television, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey are no longer attached to Bull,, declining further comment.

Spielberg and Amblin TV co-heads Frank and Falvey served as executive producers on Bull for its first three seasons. The procedural drama was just renewed by CBS for a fourth season.

CBS has renewed a slew of six drama series and two news programs for the 2019-20 television season.

The returning dramas include “Bull,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “Madam Secretary,” “MacGyver,” “Seal Team” and “Swat,” while the news programs are “48 Hours” and “60 Minutes.”

Talk Show ‘The Doctors’ Gets an African Remake (Exclusive)

CBS Studios International and Scoope Media have inked a licensing deal for an African version of “The Doctors,” the long-running daytime show that blends entertainment with health advice from a panel of real-life doctors.

Produced in Nigeria by Scoope Media U.K., the series will premiere in the last quarter of 2019 on the Scoop! Svod platform, followed by a rollout on free-to-air and pay-tv broadcasters across the continent. Rights to the series have already sold to the continent’s leading pay-tv operator, DStv, as well as China’s StarTimes, which operates in Africa.
