Plus, find out why Austin says fans will love Jt and Tess’ new ‘path.’
It’s been a hell of a season for Jt (Austin Basis) on The CW’s Beauty & The Beast. “He’s had a rough time adjusting to Vincent 2.0,” Austin tells HollywoodLife.com. “There was no Jt 2.0, so he really had to roll with the punches, and I think that’s a testament to his loyalty as a friend.”
And if you think that loyalty is done being tested, think again!
“There’s only room to grow,” Austin says of Jt’s friendship with Vincent (Jay Ryan), noting that things have only gotten crazier since Jt’s not-so-little secret was revealed earlier this season.
Jt & Tess Getting Together ‘Sooner’ Than We Think?
Friendships are nice, but what about love? Austin says it’s “obvious” that Jt has strong feelings for Tess (Nina Lisandrello), and that it’s...

Controlling fathers and rampant couples in this week's Thanksgiving episode of Beauty And The Beast...
This review contains spoilers.
2.7 Guess Who's Coming To Dinner?
Thanksgiving is a time for family and feasting so naturally Tori Windsor and Bob Reynolds popped up. Because what is a family holiday without a significant amount of fear, duress, and near-death experiences? Not a TV show, that’s for sure.
As is so often the case, Tess is once again my favourite thing in the episode. I’m sure everyone is stunned by this. The best of the best? “I was a Cub Scout.” “You’re a girl.” Excuse me while I purr at the deft use of humour to communicate a few salient points about gender politics in relationship to how boys versus girls are raised using two lines of dialogue. Well frigging done. Imagine a slow clap...

Beauty and the Beast impresses with a Vince-focussed episode that boasts great writing and performances...
This review contains spoilers.
2.4 Hothead
After last week, the cold open was a palate cleanser in the form of deliriously entertaining feminist writing. Tess begging her to take off her earrings because “They’re too dangly. I can’t, I can’t, I can’t” before they went out for girls’ night is the peak of stereotypical femininity. Said girls’ night devolving into a bar brawl which Cat wins is snap back to the archetype of tough-as-nails warrior woman. The transition is seamless and includes her fending off the advances of a man who likely doesn’t even realize the sexist entitlement he’s displaying by demanding a hug. It’s a crash course in How To Write a Real Woman in Under Ten Minutes with bonus 'whoops' face...
